Key Fobs???

Has anybody had problems with the key fobs? I have an 03 Coupe 6mt, and my fobs only work from like 10 feet away. I work at a chrysler /Jeep dealership, and the fobs for those things work from about 50-75 yards. Big difference. Any ideas? should i take them to the dealer and tell em to replace them? thanks ahead of time.

Mine is the same way even though I changed the battery in both fobs. Is there something else that can be done? My car will only unlock if I hold the fob next to the driver side window near the front of the car on most days. Sometimes it will open from about 20 ft out (on gloomy days). What gives?

I paced mine off to 103 yards on a clear day, in a linear parking lot with no visual obstructions

I've been researching and it seems that "fob" is an actual word not initials for something (F.O.B.)...

Here is the definition i found...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_fob
A key fob is a decorative item which many people carry with their keys, on a ring or a chain, often to provide a better grip or to simply make a personal statement. There is essentially no limit to the forms of key fobs available. Simple shapes of smooth metal or plastic, often with a message or symbol, are the most common. Some may be shaped into symbols or small representations of objects, or may be functional in themselves – small flashlights, calculators, penknives or other items are common. See keychain for a more extensive list of such items.
another one...

http://www.bytepile.com/definitions-k.php
A Key FOB is a type of security token: a small hardware device with built-in authentication mechanisms. Just as the keys held on an ordinary real-world key chain or fob control access to the owner's home or car, the mechanisms in the key fob control access to network services and information.

I have the same problem on an '03. In the sub-garage at work, it works at about 50' but out in the open, it's only about 5' - 10'. I took it to the dealer who replaced the battery but nothing changed. They just said that's the way it is. My last car was a Pontiac Bonneville and it worked at about 100-150'. That's how I found my car if I lost it in a parking lot.
