Does anyone else ever think this?......
I could really swear that sometimes my car feels faster than others? Taking into account weather conditions, heat, humidity, etc, I would swear that my ECU plays tricks on me, I know it is not a mechanical thing? I truly believe that car feels slower some of the time, anyone else encountered this? I have reset the ECU and personally did not feel any effects from that. I am really sure it is not my mind playing tricks on me!
I feel the same. On some days my car feels slow but on other days it feels fast. Some days if I get down on the car it reacts great but sometimes it just doesn't feel the same. Hope it's not all in my mind b/c don't wanna go nutz.
When I'm driving by myself the car seems faster. Of course most people get scared if I drive my way while they're in the car with me(especially my wife). In the morning on the way to work is when it seems the fastest.

There are many atmospheric variables that can affect performance- it's not your imagination. Hot dry days, your perfornance is off a little from cool damp days.
Altitude affects it too, sea level being the best.
Only other thing I can think of is gasoline variances and brands. (within the same grade- ie 91 octane). Some brands seem to run better than others in our engines.

To me there is a very noticeable difference in performance when driving from a cold ignition start and driving from a warmed up start. Warmed up start seems to yield better smoother performance

car motors run more efficiently when the air is cool and moist. That is y your car runs better or "faster" in the morning or just after it rains. Try it, you will notice the difference. Not exactly sure why, but my guess would be because there is more oxygen ava. to burn for a more complete combustion. The cooler air also aids in optimal engine temp.
Yah, I do notice it too, but it is so much less than turbo's so I don't mind.
Turbo's...damn, my previous wrx was fast one day, the next, dog... so I
programmed several parameters on open loop. more intense programmers
were doing closed loop which is suppose to help a lot more.
