Queston on Z-tube

ok so the time has come for me to buy the Z-tube. So heres my queston should i get the OEM Z-tube, the UTR Carbon Fiber Intake Tube G35, or the UTR Polished Intake Tube G35. Are they all the same expect the CF and Polished one look cooler or do you think that the material its made out of might be worst or better then the OEM one?

I have read on this site that people seem to prefer the sound of the OEM Z tube. This will prolly be my first mod. I've only had my car two weeks and just got passed the break in period so I'm going to wait a bit and get used to the car as it is and then add some mods later so I can better appreciate their effects.

i have the OEM nissan z-tube, and it sounds great! performance gains are probably marginal, but the SOUND improvement makes this mod well worth the price.

unfortunately i cannot speak for the CF z-tube.

i do remember a post a while back where the inside chrome of someone's chrome z-tube was flaking off! NOT what you want being fed into the engine... just a thought.

What do you guys think about combining the Z-tube with a K&N air filter?

Do you think the K&N filters as well as stock?

In my experiences modding cars, K&N filters and the like do nothing for you but give you the ability to clean your filter instead of buying a new one when it's dirty. As far as performance goes, the increase (if any) is minimal. Don't get one to make your car faster is what I'm getting at, cause it won't. Whether it filters the air better or not, I'm not sure...

The reading I've done on here seemed to indicate that this is only a problem if you orient your clamps incorrectly. If you have them in place so that they don't come in contact with your AC line, then there shouldn't be a problem.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Theres really no performance differences between the three. The only possible factors that might make a tiny fraction of a difference is that one materioal may conduct heat slightly more than the other. But the air is passing through so quickly, and at such a short distance, that it probably wont even effect it much. So any performance differences is 0.0000005 hp difference.

As far as sound... the material of the intake isnt going to really change the sound. The sound is being created by the engine. The sound is simply air vibrations, and the material of the intake arm isnt going to really change the air vibrations... especially for such a short intake arm.

Its 99.9999% looks. So just buy whatever you think looks good.
