QUICK HELP! 17" Rims+Tires -> 18" Rims+Tires

Okay, I know this may not be the 100% correct forum for this, but I need help ASAP..

I got an amazing deal on a leftover 04 G35 Coupe a few months ago. The best combination of things I wanted were DG Exterior/ Black interior / Spoiler / Aero body kit / 5AT / Upgraded 18" wheels. I got all these things besides the 18" wheels for the one I found. I have the 17" wheels and tires now, and I really hate the way they look. I want to upgrade to the upgraded 18" rims now, and I have come across what looks to be a great deal on ebay. 18" Infiniti G35 Rims Buy it now for $420.00 + Shipping. First off, does anyone think this deal seems to good to be true? The guy has amazing feedback and says the rims are new. The only thing is, they are "replicas"

Even if I dont buy those, before I buy anything, I have two questions. How much of a noticeable difference will there be from going from 17" rims and tires to 18" rims and tires? I realize it might be a bit of a "rougher" ride according to the dealer, but I believe they were referring to the package that comes with the sport tuned suspension where I would get a much stiffer and rougher ride. I love the smooth ride of the 17"s, and I realize I may have to sacrifice some of that for performance and aesthetics (probably my main concern, since I love these rims). And second of all, all I would need to do now is buy new tires, get them mounted and balanced, and put them on, correct? Is there anything else, I know I wont have to worry bout them fitting since they are made for the car. Will there be any calibration issues or anything?

Thanks for the help!

"Replicas" are exactly what they are...fakes. I would never order anything that is a replica because of quality issues. As for switching from 17"s to 18"s, you probably won't notice any significant differernces. You might feel a few more bumps due to the smaller sidewalls, but that is pretty much it. Good luck with whatever way you go. The 18"s, in my opinion, look a lot better than the 17"s.

On another note, I'm probably selling my 18"s once my 19"s get here(a month). The wheels would come with tires for a lot cheaper than you would be paying. PM me if you are interested.

I wouldn't touch those replicas. You are also gonna need tires (OEM pilot sports are almost $1000 for 4), center cap, balance...etc. It will most likely cost you around $1,500 or so to get the replicas on. Instead.....get a set with tires on this forum....you will get the originals with center caps and tires that are already mounted and balanced and most likely near 1/2 to 2/3 that price and you can just mount them yourself. Lots of people with 18's seem to be switching to 19"s or aftermarket lately.....it's a good time to get a oem set from someone.

Beware; replica's are usually heavier and don't have the same quality as OEM... I would not want to be running over 80MPH on replica's.

Just my 2 cents!
