What's that downward triangle that show next to the Navi clock??

What's that downward triangle that show next to the Navi clock??

that triangle show up sometimes, but disappear some other time. What is it? When it shows up, it's located at the left side of the Navi clock.

My guess would be a digital compass? I don't have the factory NAV so I wouldn't know, but I do know that my navigation uses up/down triangles for direction.

When the NAV is giving directions to a location, and the next street name is really long, it shows a triangle you can click on to show the rest of the street name.

Are you talking about the symbol on the navi screen when viewing the map (top left corner)?

If so, I believe it's the satellite position indicator with respect to your car. I presume green = strong signal, yellow = decent signal, red = degraded signal.

like dave said, if you click with the joystick when you see that icon, it shows you the rest of the street name (only appears if it's too long to fit across the top of the screen)
