G35 has been hit! G35 has been hit! Requesting Back-up

What's up Guys!

My girlfriend's car was involved in an accident this morning

Her left headlight: gone
Her bumper and left fender damaged.

(refer to pics)

Are there any of you in the Los Angeles area that can help me out?

I need to buy an OEM front bumper and fender. Color does not matter.
Or any recommendation on reputable body shops.

Thanks!

If your was parked and unattended and struck by another vehicle, your insurance company will cover the damage under your collision coverage. You may be able to have your deductable waived if you carry uninsured motorist coverage and have a description of the vehicle that hit you, i.e. license plate number. Your collision deductable will apply if you don't have any info on the driver or vehicle. Your premium will not go up as long as the accident was not your fault. You're better off letting the insurance company handle the repairs.

Thanks for your reply guys...the problem is....she had just cancelled her insurance, did not insure her car in time with the other company, and BANG! **** happens...she had to learn the hard way about it...all costs out of pocket!

Dubs, I'll definitively keep your offer in mind...thanks

Often times there is a "grace period" after a policy expires/lapses. Check with the former insurance company and see if it's too late to send in the payment. NOTIFY THEM OF THIS INCIDENT BEFORE SENDING IN ANY PAYMENTS. They may tell you that they'll cover the incident.

Also, shame on her for not keeping her policy up to date. There seems to be more to this story than we're hearing...

Let this be a lesson guys. When you drive nice vehicles DO NOT LET YOUR INSURENCE LAPSE.

In general, I think insurance companies count lapses against you. Not good!
Also, even if collision insurance covered it, pretty much any claim paid by the ins. company nowadays will increase your premium...maybe not immediately, but it'll happen. Ins. companies suck, they are only good for major accidents because it seems like you will pay up for small claims.

I was rear ended last week causing minimal damage.

2 people recommended the following body shop to me which I may end up using.

Markham & Boiling Body Shop
Address: 1133 E Walnut St, Pasadena, CA 91106
Phone: (626) 792-8136

Also, I bought my car at Glendale infiniti and they recommend and use the following. Their quote was higher than the above, but they do a ton of work on g35's 350Z's:

Mc Alister's Body Shop
Address: 6919 Laurel Canyon Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91605
Phone: (818) 982-6050

Both have pretty good ratings (A and B, respectively, if I remember correctly) from the better business bureau (complaints, etc.).

Hope this helps a bit, but keep asking around.

I just purchased the bumper and fender from the dealer in Glendale. Both pieces were not that expensive, around $250 each....all brand new. That's the least expensive I found.

---Sorry DUBS, I thought I could wait two weeks for your body kit upgrade, but DANG! SHE IS DRIVING MY CAR! I NEED IT BACK! ----

The sooner we fix it, the sooner I get my car back!

Yes, Yes, I can already hear some of you laughing at me, or calling me a fool for letting her borrow my car after what happened....the truth is:

I borrowed her car so many times that now,
I am somewhat expected if not, forced to re-pay the favor
----WAAAAHHH, WAAAAAHHH!!!!-----
I should've just told her:

"Look Baby, I'm sorry but this isn't working out. I mean, all you talk about is your car...how bad it makes you feel, how painful it is to look at your car all banged up. You spend so much time trying to figure out how to fix it....
but what about me?
I feel left out!....you know what? Call me after you get it fixed and all expenses are taken care of, and then...I'll think about giving you a second chance...ok?"

That would have saved me so much trouble!

But NO! Here comes Super-Boyfriend! TAA-RA!

"DON'T WORRY HONEY...I WILL SAVE YOU FROM THE EVIL POWERS OF ANXIETY"

I hate being a pooo-see sometimes!

What we do sometimes for the love of pooo-tang!

I'll keep you guys updated with the progress. There's some other damages that I want to point out, but I am way too tired to continue typing, and besides, I gotta hit the sack.

By the way, Brewin98 & Fredz...I will defenitively get in contact with the shops....thanks a bunch!
