How can I improve my 0-60??
How can I improve my 0-60??
Somebody said, even if I get the supercharger or turbocharger, my 0-60 will
not change anything even 1/4 mile.
But I think if I get more HP and torque, it means get better 0-60 and 1/4mile.
I'm really confused.
Am I wrong? or he is wrong?

i was thinking id pick up one of those Viper engines, i bet she would at least lose a 1/2 sec on the 1/4.

At risk of his question never being answered... yes, in general, more hp and torque gets you faster times. Lowering weight of the car works too, or lighter parts in the car to lower their moment of inertia (IE flywheel). Whoever told you a supercharger or a turbo would not improve your 0-60 or 1/4 is insane. What would be the point of them if that were the case?

Exacly as Pwoz wrote, better 1/4 times are:
- power (amount and characteristic, SC gives more linear gains vs turbo)
- weight (lighter smaller rims, throw out spare wheel, rear seats etc.)
- grip (slick tires to spare lots of time at launch)
Good launch makes a huge difference - practice, practice, practice....

you can get fast times but at what expense? If you want fast track times, you can switch to smaller wheels, maybe 17's because the rotational mass from the wheel adds up big. Each 1 pound of rotational mass equals about 10 lbs of reduction in the vehicles wieght. So if you change your rims and tires from 28lb's each tire to about 20 lbs with some lightwieght wheels, you'll save about 320 lbs of vehicle wieght (8*4*10). And every 100 lbs is about .1 second. Sprung and unsprung wieght are topics talked about all over the net, you can find them and learn about ways to effectively lessen the wieght of your car. You can remove the spare, too.
If you don't want to sacrifice comfort, you can install a clutch stop which will reduce the distance your clutch goes down before you can engage. Other than that, not much else you can do with overhauling the engine, or picking up the "faster engines" for 250 (which IMO is steep, cuz I have a group deal discount for only 150)
