Exclamation Bent Rim

I've been a member on this forum since Oct '03 and this is my first thread. This is definitely irony. It's irony because this thread is not for getting answers to "cool" stuff for the G but for damaging my own G

The Bad News: Over the weekend i was out doing an errand and it was rainy out and my girlfriend was with me who is part owner of the G btw. I usually dont even drive the G in bad weather with the performance tires because its not that great but i said who cares i will enjoy it. So anyway, i am down the road from where i had to run my errand and i realize i forgot to bring something with me for that errand and i was running about 10 minutes late so i started to get pissed that i had to turn around and be even more late. Thats when it all happened... I said screw it and turned VDC off and cranked the wheel hit the gas and booooom. I slid and hit a 4 inch high curb with my passenger rear tire. Right when i was going into the turn i knew it was going bad because of the wet sand i didnt notice right away. Well anyway my wheel ended up inverted and i had to be towed. I was pissed at myself because it was stupid and i let my stress of being late and emotions get the best of me.

The more bad news: I knew it was going to cost some money because it went to the infiniti dealership but i said to myself its my fault, it was stupid, i'd live and move on. In any other car i would have drove on top of the curb but because of the low profile tires the metal wheel hit curb and bent the rim. I got the estimate today and it was approx 1100 and 840 was just the damn wheel. I didnt need a tire. So i had them fix it and put my spare on so i can drive it home. I didnt want to purchase a wheel for that much, its a rip off, particularly when they float around here and ebay for a couple hundred.

Need help: If anyone has a 04 18" performance tire/wheel package wheel they are willing to sell for cheap please let me know so this situation can end on a brighter side for me. I see the factory replicas on ebay for liike $500 for all 4 but i am not too confident about those, does anyone have any experience or input about those? Quality & fit for example?

Sorry for the long post but since its my first thread i mine as well make it a worthwhile one. Thanks !

Damn dude, you can almost get a complete set of aftermarket wheels and tires for 1200 bucks. You can usually find someone selling the 05's for about 1800-2000 bucks brand new with tires.

Dam, Sorry to read about this. Ebay can produce some great deals as well as tirerack.com for tire/rim packages.
for that price$, you might be better off selecting a new set of rims & tires off tirerack and if you stumble across an odd stock rim on ebay you could have a second set of winter rims.

Good luck.

Ummm, some of the replicas of the 18s are 7.5" and like 35 offset. They shouldnt be mixed with real OEM wheels
