Console removal clarification.

I just want to double check before I break something. I installed my V1 and ran the wire down to the passenger footwell. I would like to tap into the ciggy lighter so I need to remove the trim around the shifter. I did a search and couldn't find any info on 2005's.

Do I just gently pry up the trim starting at the back and work my way around till it is loose?

I assume 6MT.

Having just done this for my 8500 X50, I know your pain. I searched, and the best I could find was "use a screwdriver covered in cloth and pry around...".

DON'T!

You can try to search for my thread, or just do this:

Put the shifter in 4th gear, put both hands over the heated seat buttons, one on each side of the shifter, palms down. Push the leather shifter boot down with fingers from both hands, on either side of the shifter, curl them up back towards you, and gently lift with the fingers, through the boot. It should come right up and off. Push down with your thumbs on the plastic, while pulling up with your fingers from the backside of the aluminum.
