At 2.9 you could have put that 30k in an investment and came out ahead.

Exactly. "haha i have no payments, but I'm really spending more then you"

I can purchase outright too, but why would I when you can get 0.9-2.9%?

I have an aversion to monthly payments, probably rubbed off from my parents who were raised during the depression. The best rates available around here when I purchased was 3.5-4% (dealer had promo rates on the G35 sedan, but not the coupe). To net that cost after tax, I would have to earn 6.5-7% on any investment. I can do that today, but it takes time and there are other things I'd rather do.

Your score is over 800.........................YOU ARE THE MAN!!! I thought that was near impossible?

I got 3.9% through a Credit Union for 60 months, my credit is 700+.

Can you provide more info about this transaction? I'm on the verge of a purchase and don't seem to be able to get better than 4.89% on a 2005 Coupe with well above a 700 credit score.

2.9% over 60 months. They offered 1.9% over 36 months but I couldn't afford that payment.

Yeah, I've never really proactively TRIED to have good credit, but somehow I've had a Beacon score of 820'ish for several years now. I never carry a balance on a credit card, and always pay the bills. That's about it.
