Well.. i took delivery of my G35 today and trust me.. i love it.. but when i was signing the paperwork over they asked me if i wanted the perma plate.. and at the time they made it sound really really great.. she said that if i spilled something on my upholstery they would try to clean it off.. bugt if they couldnt they would re upholster..

so i signed up for it.. but after coming back home and doing a little research.. it looks like the permaplate is a waste of money!!

do you think i could ask for the 800 dollars back that i paid for it?

Did they do the job yet? If not I'd try, and if they can't then use the credit for something more practical like clear bra, oil change/maintenance plan or even lo-jack...

Yeah i'm gonna call tomorrow and ask to see if i can get the money back.. if not ill have to go with the overprice clear bra...

yes you can get 100% of it back...

i got the rim repair and totalled my car so got most of it back cause it has been 9 months or so.

if they havent even applied the coating yet, you should be able to get 100% of it back.

if they say they wont, then tell them to give you the number to infiniti and tell them you will call them and ask infiniti... those financing people are a bunch of liars, they didnt want to give me my extended warranty back on my totalled car, but i got it back eventually by calling infiniti...

Is the $800 just for upholstery protection. That would only give them about $775 in profit.
You should be fine getting your money back or at very least a credit towards something more of better value.

Good luck.

Okay, sorry that sounds a little more reasonable, but it's still a lot and it sounds like you might want that to go against some other items.
Those packages are huge profit centres for the dealers.

By law... in NY state... you have 3 FULL days to break the contract. Even if you buy a car.. drive it around for 2 days you can go back on 3rd and give it back.

Just to let you know... a bottle of SCOTCH GUARD for $4.56 does the same thing as the 800 perma crap yougot

That's good information for purchasers in NY.

The scotch guard alternative to the "perma crap" you referred to doesn't work too well on the painted car surface though or the leather seats.

It's a synthetic wax like Klasse that lasts slightly longer usually, but only for 3-4 months or so. Normally with those programs they ask you to do a refresh every year at a small charge and then warranty the finish for something like 5 years. I don't know if that is what you bought with perma plate but that is my experience with similiar dealer products.
