Are we still talking stock or FI G? and did you play with a C5 in your G or a CTS-V? Busloads on a stock G...yes on a FI G...no.

I was in my stock G...haha. wasn't pretty at all but the vette sure looked good running away

I would think the FI G would give the CTS-V a run depending on the FI application. Some are pushing 400 to the wheels while others only 300.

Ok, it makes sense now. I wouldn't bother with a 300 rwhp FI application personally. The longer I wait, the longer the aftermarket has a chance to perfect the 9 psi Vortech application I'm drooling over. In this setup, 400+ rwhp is expected.

If you're gonna do that, then might as well get some motor work done so that the boost doesn't kill the engine. I figure its the escalation of committment at that point. If I were gonna spend $6k for a blower, might as well spend $2k more to make a reliable engine.

So true, but it seems like every guy that blows his engine does so because of bad tuning. Eagle1, 99Atlantic, etc have had blowers for close to a year with plenty of autocross sessions with no problems. If you read the blown engine posts, you'll see it's mainly bad installs or bad air/fuel management (detonation). In the meantime, Jason from Performance Nissan is tearing apart the '05 engines to see if the internals, mainly the connecting rods are forged (stronger). The word on the street is that the Vq30 can hold more than 9 psi, because they have stronger connecting rods. Like I said, I'm waiting for the perfect install, which may include reworked internals.

some nitrous and slicks would give it a good run..

and to the original poster: he just let off the gas.. the chances of you catching up to a car that has 100more hp then you when you are already moving at 100mph is next to impossible..

now for the regular CTS.. you can eat one like cake

Roll on street races are pretty pointless because you don't know when the other guy is going to hit it and back off. Chances are if you caught up to him, its because he let off. On a run up to 150, you're not going to catch a CTS-V with a stock G35. No way, no how.

Whatever you do, don't become a ricer and pass a car after you lost, then act like you just won after you pass him, when he shut it down a long time ago. I'm not saying you did this, but don't do what ricers do, please.

Better yet, don't race him at all on the street. Take it to the track, which will separate the men from the boys. The timing lights don't lie.

As a matter of fact, I am. Wanna race and see what you got, MATE?

Careful what you say kid - you never know who is at the other end of the keyboard. Maybe I'm just a boy who doesn't have anything more than a remote control car and a dream. Then again, maybe I'm not.

What are you trying t o proof? A G is faster or you are a better driver? Street racing is dangerous and you are making other G drivers look bad.
