caddi cts-v

had a run in with one yesterday. i was leaving the gas station, when a silver caddi flew past. atleast 70mph still accelerating. so i wondered if i could catch him. so tried with much success i actually flew past him at like 115mph both of is got on the interstate. continued to play around noticed it had an exhaust. so i figure caddi under 5 no way in hell it should be any competitionit should walk a g with just an intake . everytime he gunned it i gunned it. he would pull like 1 1/2 -2 cars real quick like. but after that it seemed like it had no top end i caught him everytime. and past him and just kept pulling away. he a middle aged man looked like he was just out having fun with his car. maybe i caught him cuz i wasnt pushing it. or maybe they are all 0-80 and thats it. anyway we played tag every time he walked me to like 80-85, i started pulled on him him in the top 3rd and just kept pulling3-4 cars then shuttin down to do it again . in the end he gave a big smile, anda thumbup. i gave him a nod and a thunb up back and we went our seperate ways. them damn things get up quick. in the low end.

hmm, interesting....I wonder if they focused on the "under 5" marketing stuff so much, that they sacrificed the top end?

pretty sure it was a v unless he spent the money to do the v brake upgrade. and put the v emblems on with the colored flag looking thing on the left side of the trunk and sadils6 on the right. and on the doors i think on the side mouldings. and he was def pushing it cuz he got a little loose when he snatched 3rd and puled hard but maybe he shut it down after then. doubt it though becauset we played around for a good 30 minutes. but maybe the madche has a point maybe they focused on the low end and not the top end. i dunno maybe ill see him again and ill ask him.

My friend has a V and yes it will eat a G! No plenum and headers will make a difference!

No way it was a V... They are all top end! Top speed on one is around 180 mph.

Or maybe just didn't know how to drive. The V puts out 400 bhp and will easily smoke our Gs.

The dude stopped racing when it got past 100. He didn't want to go to jail.

How should I say this, he was having fun with you. You are talking about a V8 400hp/400torque vehicle. I do not want to appear to be rude, but these threads are silly.

EZZ is right the guy beat you and didn't have any thing left the prove. and was just toying with you. I am in the prosses of trading my 04 6mt in for a 05 cts-v and and super charger won't help a G keep up with a V in the 1/4. so mod your little hearts out but don't think any thing short of a massive turbo and rebuilt motor will get you in the v's class of speed.

I have been checking out the celica boards lately ( i used to own one) and this thread reminds me of the many racing threads there. More than 1/2 of the people on there think they can take a STI or an EVO 8 as long as its from a roll....they claim they have no top end....but this thread tops the cake.

And what does a CTS-V do in the 1/4 mile? You make it seem like it runs low 12s. A properly tuned SC'ed or TT'ed G35 will pull high 12s to low 13s. Pretty much CTS-V country. There are actually 350Zs already in the mid 11s on stock internals FYI. CTS-V 400 hp/395 ft/lb @ 3800 lbs vs Supercharged G35c 380 rwhp (465 hp crank)/325 ft/lb @ 3400 lbs sounds pretty well-matched. I agree, in stock form the G35 is out-gunned.

Here's a link to some actual CTS-V 1/4 mile times. CTS-V
Only one could pull off a high 12, the rest are in the 13s. Even though they share a Corvette engine, the CTS-V is over 700 lbs heavier.

True. The G should do better from a dig than from a roll with the CTS-V with all that wheel hop. From a roll though, the CTS-V should pull bus lengths on the G and keep continuing until its 180 mph speed limit. I played with a C5 vette once and let me say...it wasn't very pretty
