Strapped the new G35 to a Mustang Dyno!!

I was not happy with the results. I am not sure what percentage of power is lost from the crank to the wheels on a rear wheel drive car... but from the results... it looks like 22%!!!!!

Thats right... I hit 232 rwhp. Thats ***.

Now.. in defence... for some strange reason, the G35 was not listed in the spec manual for the Mustang Dyno. This is a brand new dyno, and the G35 was not listed... so they could not enter the proper vehicle specs.. which might have really affected the runs. Instead, we entered a 300ZX spec. Three passes and 232hp was the best.

My car has 1200km... and I was happy when I thought it had 298hp... even though it was to the crank... now.. my old habbits of modding might come back to haunt me with these results.

anyone know where to get a good deal on a Twin Turbo set up? :P

I think 232rwhp is about right from what I have been reading on this forum but that is from a 280hp 03 or 04 model which would be a 21% loss, for a 298hp that is a 28% loss.....hrmmmm does not sound good.

The Dyno is a tool to help in tuning, Telling someone to run to another dyno which gives a more inflated number is kinda silly don't you think?

his intention was to get some ideal baseline numbers out of his stock g35 not tune his stock g35. It's not really inflated, it's more like getting accurate numbers....

Agreed. Dynojet is your best bet for comparison numbers to others on this forum as I know no one whos done a mustang dyno on this forum...

You can't compare runs from the SAME DYNO on different days, much less different dynos, different days, different altitude, different operator.........and so on.

Use the numbers for what they are, baseline numbers.

You're probably right about not good if your % numbers were correct. Check the math- 17% loss if it was an '04 with 280 hp and 22% loss on the'05 with 298.

It should be 18% for 6MT and 20% for the 5AT. Try a Dynojet.

If a mustand dyno reads lower, then 232 is not that bad. I dynoed 232 on a dynojet with headers, test pipes, exhaust, injen CAI. The car probably needed a TS flash real bad, but now with TT and built bottom end I will should hit the 500-530rwhp at 17psi
