Before you freak out completely, get under and all around your car and look for evidence of paint work. I don't car how good they are, if it was repainted you'll likely find a little trace evidence of it somewhere.
I'm in the same boat as the rest of the guys here. I bet it's the normal difference you see when you apply different paint over different types of surfaces. I thought the paint that was applied to the plastic pieces of our cars was a different type from that used on the metal, but I could be mistaken.
Before you make assumptions, look for evidence other than the slight difference in color. Look at it under different lighting conditions too - some light sources reveal more than others.

As everyone else has been stating, the slight color variation is completely normal and expected. On My brother's 2001 pearl white cadillac sts for instance, the bumpers are a shade off, simply because some of it is fiberglass/plastic, some is metal. Pearl white along with IP are hard colors to match. I highly doubt your car was damaged and then repainted. I have also heard on some cars like Honda for instance, bumper parts and plastic accessories are painted at a different location then the car body, shipped and then put together. Dont know the validity of that but its what i heard. It doesnt seem unreasonable considering global manufacturing and production.

i would first verfiy with dealer management that it was damaged and painted.if it was maybe the can repaint it to better match.also based on my time in the biz with honda/acura white cars/trucks from honda sometimes dont even match from the factory.could this be the case from infiniti?maybe.if so you may want to get the factory rep involved for repair.goodluck

A friend of mine has an 03 IP and the rear bumper color is obviously different than the rest of the car. A few weeks ago, I even asked him if he had body work done recently and he confirmed that the mismatch was from factory. On my black G, the blending of the plastic and metal color seems much better. If you are successful in getting Infini address the problem, let us know on this board; I'll pass on the info to my friend.

Wow, okay guys thank for all the replys
This might all be true but it sucks that the car is a different color because its pretty obvious. I wouldn't mind if it was hard to tell but its pretty obvious if you look at the rear. The front bumper and gas cover match, its just the rear.
I will go to the dealer and check it out. Who knows they might do something about it. I will have to check closely to see if the bumper was removed but I am not sure how I can tell?
Other new cars might have this same problem but it might not be as much as mine, so because of this they might help me. If not, I will just deal with

several years back, I had a 98 honda prelude with diamond white pearl. The colors
on that car looked different too panel per panel at some different angles. It was
all factory paint, never repaired. It's just the way it is on some colors.
even my BS color on my G35C looks different panel per panel on some angles
at different lighting. It's usually caused by which way the metallic particles in the
paint is positioned. that's why it's so hard to paint match these colors.

I had not noticed this because I never really stared at all the body parts to see if the paint matched on a brand new car!!
The difference is not huge but its a shade or 2 darker than the rest of the car. I was in disbelief and still am, I cant believe it!!
Anyway, the dealer sold me a brand new car with a repainted rear bumper. I am assuming that there was a minor accident, probably in the lot, and the bumper was repainted. There is no mark of paint anywhere else on the car, so it was probably removed and remounted after getting repainted.
So guys, what can I do? I am very mad right now and do not want a new $40K car with a different bumper color
