you said that its just so obvious... well its really not that obvious or else you would have noticed it before you brought the car home. The color difference is now so apparent to you because everytime you look at the car you look for it. Everytime you walk to and from the car, day, night, in shade, etc, you look to see if its worse than what you last remember it as and its probably just a psychological thing that keep weighing on you. Dont sweat it and it wont bother you.

Well...I'd say ignore everyone else and take it back in to be looked at. I just received my car a week ago. Both side rocker panels were 1-2 shades lighter than the rest of the car. The dealership spotted the difference just before I came in when they were prepping the car. They then figured they would just take the rockers off a second car they had just gotten in and swap em out. Surprise, those were also off. After numerous call/enquiries...it appears there was a paint problem and a run was done with the wrong mix. The dealership has back ordered new skirts/rockers for me...which will probably take several months. In the mean time, they took them off and painted them locally...perfect match. I'll take the car back in a few months and they will swap them at that time. There most definately was a production run problem with my colour. It is possible this is the same with yours.

its really a strange thing but very common thing...if you go to an infiniti dealer or an acura dealer and look at all their brand new cars sitting on the lot (lets call it pearl white to be generic) you'll be shocked at the wide range of color on the bumpers. side by side some are a lot more "yellow" than others, a very few more whiter, but almost none are perfect matches to the paint on the metallic parts of the cars.

Okay, I guess after reading all of your replys, it seems that the bumper just came a different color from factory. I did not think that it was possible to be of a different color from factory but I guess its common.

Most of you guys are saying that its normal but I dont want that. I wouldnt mind if it was very close but its not! You can easily tell from 5 feet or 50 feet away. Now if you look at the car as a whole, its difficult to spot it but its noticable. I had other people point that out to me, thats how I found out.

I will go back to the dealer and ask them to replace the bumper, hopefully they will but I am not too confident.

All of you guys saying that its normal. How many of you actually have your car with different color panels or bumpers? Out of you guys, how many have had pointed out that the car was "repainted" or "its a different color" by somebody else? It sucks having to go through that with a $40k car.

me...I have a silver coupe that the bumpers don't match perfectly....and, as I said before, I deal with this every day at work....easiest way to answer a "will it match" question on a bumper repair/replacement is to point out how the bumper doesn't match to begin with....seriously tho, go check out new cars on lots....any brand...the lighter colors are usually the ones...

Yep, I just noticed this the other day, and was a bit worried about it, until I saw another one in a parking lot. The factory paints all the bumpers at a different location with different batches and angles, then slaps them on to the cars. Not the gratest method, but that's what you get with mass produced vehicles.

I Had A 2004 350z, Red, I Had The Same Thing Happen.. The Color On Plastic Compared To Metal Never Match Up.. But Like You Said 40k+ Car It Should Not Be Like That. Good Luck.

Just for the record.....

FWIW
Evan if they repainted it, they have no obligation to disclose
that information to you.
That does not mean you can't ask them to fix it properly though.

If I'm not mistaken.. there is a threshold of damage cost @ which
they must declare the car as being repaired.

That's normal because of the different material, Metal & Plastic will not have the same look. That is the same question I asked when I noticed an IP G on the lot where I got mine, They told me the reason and it made sense to me.
