Leasing and Modding...

Have any of you leased your G and done some basic mods like intake and exhaust? Do you forsee any problems with doing this as long as you put the stock parts back on?

Also, I got a letter in the mail with my first bill, with the letter was a brochure saying that I can bring my car in for a free inspection to make sure everything is the way it should be. Any reason to do this?

Thanks

I don't see anything wrong at all with modding a leased vehicle... I leased my previous car which was a TL... the only con to doing so is putting the stock parts back at the end... which really isn't a big deal, especially if you put the mods on yourself...

Even when I buy a car I usually put it back to stock when trading in at
the dealer for a new car, so no big deal.

They're not really checking for anything, just a courtesy mail to make sure
you're happy with the car.

good if they're not checking but what if they ask you "did you do any mods on this car"? should you tell them u did but installed the stock parts back already or would you lie to them.

When you sign the lease agreement at the beginning, is there a clause in there that you're agreeing to about leaving the vehicle unmodified?

If I were a lawyer composing that agreement, I'd probably put it in there. Afterall, they want the vehicle coming back to them at the end of the lease with as little wear and tear as possible.

Wow, that's a little more than I had in mind! I just want to do intake and exhaust... I would think I'd be ok, neither of these mods does much to the car anyway...

i have intake/exhaust/smoked lights/clear corners/wheels on order....go for it, it's not a big deal. i was just like you in the beginning but i actually went to a couple dealers and told them... "im bringing my car in tommorow and my lease ends this week." they brought out three different people and i finally talked to the fleet manager. he said he'd take it as is or i can change it to stock. by the way i told him i have springs...wheels..intake..exhaust. so yea..its just the dealer.
