Question What the hell is that? (PICS)

Does anyone know what the hell these spots are? I can’t get rid of them…

The best way to describe them is "black freckles".

Did you just have your brake pads changed? It looks like the Brake Quiet lube the put on the back side of your pads when they change them out.

They look like spots from tire shiner spray. There has been some talk on how some will stain the 18" G wheels.

No, just inspected. But I've had these spots before the inspection.

This sounds like the most reasonable explanation as I do use tire shiner every time I wash the car. Are there any wheel polishers in particular that can take these stains off?

Go over the wheels with a clay bar. If that doesn't work, chances are your tire shine may have eaten some of the clear coat. What kind of wheel cleaner do you use? Is it the spray and rinse kind? If left on too long, it becomes corrosive.

Speed, I had the same think on my stockers! I referred to them as almost lil cancer spots. I have some stuff from Detailing Dynamics that may work! It is called "The $hit" and takes pretty much everything out! I had the same thing happen to the new wheels and it worked great!

Can you bring some of that "$hit" on the 15th? just want to sample it out. If it works, I'll contact D2...

Thanks,

D.

(good thing my stockers are getting bumped to "winter only" duty in a few days)

This came up before, I believe that those spots are from overspray and is a defect in the product. I wouldn't worry about it if you can't see them from more than 3 ft away. Only you will be closer to the wheel when you are cleaning them.
