Look at www.leasecompare.com

Also put your exact options into www.edmunds.com to find the invoice price, work towards that. It looks to me like the residual is high and do some research on the "money factor" and make sure they're not screwing you on that.

And get AT LEAST 12,000 miles/year.

thanks for the replys guys. Yea I did notice that the residual was a bit high. Another dealership quoted me around 18k for that. Thanks for the heads up on the "money factor". I'm going to look into that for sure.

I leased mine for $550month with tax...39 month lease, i believe 60%residual, $36700 cap cost and my money factor was high, the percentage was around 7% because of credit with 15k miles/year....I was hoping to get $490/month with a better credit rating.

your residual cost is a percentage of your MSRP, not your actual cost, so yours is about right.

10,000 a year? Thats crazy and your paying over $500 a month, what a rip off. Man I would drive that much in 7 months you need to at least get 15,000 miles. I dont understand why people lease it truly is a waste of money. You can just finance the car with over $500 a month. I cant get over the 10,000 miles what a rip.

ehhh...completely wrong, getting a car period is a waste of money. You finance something that appreciates, you lease something that depreciates. You CAN NOT finance the G35 for $500/month unless you put a substantial amount of $ down. Adding more miles doesn't really cost that much more, I bet he can go from 10k/year to 15k/year for $15/month but maybe he doesn't drive much at all and he would rather save the $15/month.

You should always try and go into a lease with zero money down. Save that $3000 and spend it on something else......... like mods.

After rereading the original post, he should definitely finance. You don't lease a car planning to buy it out at the end. If you lease the car and you decide after 3 years that you really love it, then thats one thing, but to go into a lease knowing you want to buy it is not smart.

so lets see here..
491x42 = 20622 what you paid...
22,703 = residual. what the cars worth in 3 1/2 years..
3,000 = you lost in down payment..

total investment lost 23,672....
22,702 = what you have to refinance depending on downpayment again, and intrest rates..

total investment = over $45K + new intrest rate + longer term because of refinancing.
lets say you financed 22K for another 5 years.
total time it takes you to pay off a car = 8 1/2 years..

a new G is 41K loaded with every thinkable option. if you can't pay 800/month for a G initially, then i dont think you really need this car. but hey, if you want it that bad..

1k over invoice
5k down 72mo. 5% APR @ $548/mo.

...sounds right?

only problem is color at this dealership...i dont want RED!..they had an IP one, but sold it..so we'll see, crossing fingers..hpoefully by the end of the day I will be the new owner of a G!!

Congrats! You won't really miss the Navi too much unless you always get lost or travel in areas that you are not familiar with (although I love the reaction I get when I hit the button and screen slides up from the console).

I just got mine last Sunday and I am making up excuses daily to take it out for a spin (the wife loves it just as much as I do). It is a great car!
