Stock '05 6mt dyno #'s

Our club headed out to Next level perfomance here in orlando for a dyno day this morning. I haven't really seen any other baseline runs for a 05 6mt so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was guessing I would get 230rwhp but hoping for 235rwhp. Well, after 3 runs my best was 241rwhp and 223ft/lb torque! Todd got me really excited at first by telling me that I hit 248rwhp but there was a spike at the end because the 05's have a soft rev limiter compared to pre 05. They took out the spike and the peak hp was confirmed, needless to say I was still happy.

i think someone posted the numbers about a month or so ago. the 05 6mt's do appear to dyno a bit higher (hp numbers) than the previous years as expected.

Can't compare dyno numbers from different dynos on different days in different parts of the country.

I don't have the exact #'s of everyone else, but most modded 6mts were putting right around my #'s, I think some where even lower.

You are showing 16.5% DT loss and from what ive heard the norm is 18% for 6mt's. I show about 19% DT loss

Good point, I wonder that the weather was like in Florida? 241rwhp stock does not sound bad at all to me.

A certain stock '04 6speed put down 233/230. So the new '05s are definitely the winner in the dyno area. Now Chaz, what did you run in the 1/4 mile? Hahah, I'm just messing with you man.

yeah yeah, but in my defense what was your best 1/4 run the first couple times you ran? lol

I still can't believe the sedan put 241rwhp with an 04, was he completely stock?!?!

Also, I wouldn't say the 05's are the winner in the dyno area, you did make 7ft/lb more torque but 8rwhp less.

We kinda need that power to haul our extra 70lbs around.

Not including driver weight differences!! That could go either way though of course.

Could you elaborate on the soft rev limiter and how it feels different from pre '05 models? I have an '05 and have not yet hit the rev limiter.

well i have never hit the rev limiter on a pre 05 so i am not exactly sure. I told the driver to just hit the rev limiter because im not exactly sure where it is, Todd (neffster) did the same thing. When he hit the rev limiter on Todd's car the car just stopped going, Im guessing on the 05's it kinda stutters at the rev limiter and doesn't completely stop? not really sure, but it did give a spike at the end.

Rev limiter on mine was over 7000rpm. Engine cuts out for brief moment.

What wheel and tire combo ChazM?

Here is a link to an 05 350z dyno on another board. They made 255hp with I guess the only difference being drive shaft length. No I don't beleive they made 2 engines with one having a 2hp advantage. http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...highlight=dyno

I agree with Johnnycham. I would be choked if my 300hp car put only 230 to the wheels
