Gas Pedal stuck?
Alright, i got a problem. I was coming home from a get together and decided to finally see the power of the G(recently broken in). So i was entering the freeway and gased it in 2nd gear, shift to 3rd, was going to shift to 4th but the clutch pedal gave and the gas pedal was stuck so i was at 7000 rpms in neutral going like 80. clutch pedal dropped to the floor(tried tapping on it, no resistance at all). Then after 2 seconds it grabbed and went back to normal. After that, i was like ??????. so i just cruised at 65(like i always do) and decided to drop to 5th and gas to see if it will do it again. The gas pedal got stuck again. so my question is....
is this a known problem? Kinda sucks.

just happened to me on the way home. but in my case, i know the reason.
my friggin floor mat (i have 2 - one factory one, and one plastic one with spikes on the bottom - bought it from the dealer when i bought the car, custom-fitted, helps protect the factory mats) - so, my friggin floor mat shifted forward and when i pushed the accelerator pedal down, it stuck under the mat. i let it go, and in a couple of seconds it popped back out.
bloody hell. i got to do something about that mat. staple it to the floor or something...

Ah, i see. Well when i got home i pressed the gas pedal to see if it would get caught on the floor mat(i also have weather mats on top of the carpet mats) but there is no way it can get stuck so i don't know. I am going to check again tomorrow but theres also the clutch where it just gave so i have another problem.

Guys, I used to have the two mats scenario too until I had a similiar incident with the throttle sticking and quickly turned off the key while driving 45mph on a twisty road. Don't do the two mat thing on the drivers side. That's a big no no. It's very dangerous for the reasons you just outlined. Even the owners manual references not to do that.

Rbull, Well i do think the gas pedal might have gotten stuck on the mats but my clutch pedal gave up. It had no resistance and was free-willing(sp) on the floor. With my mats, the clutch pedal doesn't reach the mats anyways so yeah. I am going to have it checked out. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

I think you're exaclty right on the mat reaching the clutch pedal. It doesn't. The gas pedal is possibly a bit more of an issue though.
That's an incredibly strange on with the clutch pedal. I guess you haven't found yet what caused it. Be sure to post why.

Sorry, cannot help you on that one.
I used to have a 2002 Corvette Z06 and GM was having a similar problem with the clutch falling to the floor at very high RPM's.
The issue was the fingers on the pressure plate were not stiff enough for high very rpm use. Seems to be a problem on the C6 too from what I have read...

The Infiniti rubber mats say on them not to use with the regular mats. Of course, in my sedan, I do use both together. The driver's side one has a hole to attach to the nub that sticks up and holds the regular mat. They both fit on the nub and mine has not moved to a place where it could catch the gas pedal. I am not recommneding you use both together. This would be a dangerous issue with mats that don't attach to anything.
If your gas pedal is not sticking to the mat, I'd suggest bringing it in right away, as that could very dangerous in a parking lot or driveway. Remember the Audi saga (if it was really the car's fault).
I know you think my car is defective because they left the clutch pedal off, so I have no comments on the clutch issues. Except-is it possible that clutch is cut ou if the engine overrevs?
Keep us informed.
