Just got the prototype in today. My own design. Comments welcome.

It was modeled with Solidworks and CNC machined. Took a little cash and a few months but I think it came out pretty good. I might make a revision or two.

did they use your solidworks model to cut the foam core and fiberglass over it? Do you mind sharing the cost associated with all that? I was thinking about doing the same.

I had the OEM spoiler 3d scanned. The center is the same, "wingtips" differ. I have a friend that drew my idea, then I hired a company to turn it into a solidworks model and send it through a CNC machine. It is very hard foam, almost like pine wood.

It's been a long time since I started, but it was somewhere between 5-10k. Eventually I wouldn't mind selling the design or maybe manufacturing/selling a few. Not sure there is enough market/interest though. It was a great project either way.

5 grand for a spoiler holy crap! You should take the design to a glass expert and produce some and sell them, You could make a mint on that thing.

It's a one off right now. I'm might making a few if I can find a low-cost source that will produce good quality pieces. I guess, if you'd like one just shout in the thread and I will be able to judge interest. Not sure if it will work out yet though. Worth a shot to try.

Talk to G352NV he has some mad contacts out in Sacramento. He could probably have the thing put together for you, or at least put you in contact with the right people.

P.S. copyright your design before this process, this way if someone tries to copy oyu you can claim infringment and collect on it. Look up Poor Mans Copyright on google, or talk to a good trade attorney. Talk to Top Secret about this, he will tell you all about people that rip you off.
