Hi guys, I've been reading this board for a while now, but never decided to post. Since I too am looking to get a G towards the end of this year, I've been trying to consider when the best time it would be to buy. Where did you guys find the information about June being the last month for the 2005 production? I think someone said they heard from their dealer, but if anyone has found a documented source I'd like to know. I think you guys are right that there will always be something better out there, but sometimes it pays to wait. The '03 and the '04 were very similar, so it didn't really matter. However the '05 is significantly different that the wait is probably worth it. If the intelligent key think is true, then it might be worthwile to wait for a few more months....

Well, I just got back from placing my order with my dealer (05 DG 6MTC with everything but the door moldings). Got it at invoice plus the standard $499 dealer fee (thanks to being a member of the Florida G35 Club). I didn't want to take a chance on having to wait until next February to actually get my car. Now all I have to do is find something to fill my time until August (although my guy says it may be here sooner).

I think june is the last month that you can "order" the G, that doesnt mean they stop the productions at end of june, unless they decide to have the 06's come out early like Sept.?, I would guess that early sept. would've been end of production for 05's.

Congrats on your new G , dont think you could wait that long either most ppl just can resist the power of the G...you gonna hve few sleepless nights, dont think 06s will have too much changes anyways.

Consider when the new 2006's are due to arrive....September/October. When do you think they will stop production of the 2005 to get everything ready for the 2006 to be assembled? They would not have simultaneous production of both 2005 and 2006 models.

FWIW, my guy at the dealer doesn't think the 06's will be out until November or December and the 6MT's will be out even later (similar to the 05's). No, he doesn't have any inside info, but that was his thought.

Where do you get this from? Return them... return them where?

Yeah I really doubt anyone returns old inventory as soon as the new model hits the lot, just means they will be willing to wheel and deal to move the old inventory Actually one dealer around here was selling brand new 2002 Honda Accords for KIA prices a few months ago. I am buying an auto so I guess I will just wait around september and see what the dealers have left on the lot and hopefully get a really good deal. Thanks for the help guys.

with actual changes in the 2005 coupes/sedan, i totally understand the dilemna that many buyers (mid to late last year) had with getting the 04's or waiting for the 05's. however, i don't believe there will be any significant changes in the 06's. so, there's really no point in waiting since it's so early in the year. like what other members have said, you can wait for the 06's and then want to wait for the 2007's too later down the road.

do dealers really send cars back? and if so, back where? i was under the impression that they keep them until they sell them giving the buyer much more leverage. i was going to wait until 06's are about to hit the lot before i come in and try to deal and get an 05. i hope it works!

This is so great. You can always wait for the next year to see what the future holds. I'd say wait for the 06 and buy it ASAP so that way you have at least a yr with it, with out worrying to much about changes

i think at this point in the year, you can get a good deal either way if you know how to haggle and play hardball. most members have been getting from a couple hundred dollars to a thousand dollars over invoice. you're going to have to wait another 4-5 months for the 06's to come out. and, you may still not get a better deal than what you can get now.
