Smile Custom DEFI BF Gauges, LEDs, and Center Console Install *PICS*

Well i know how these boards work when it comes to voicing their opinion, so i'll take everything with a grain of salt. Anyway, i actually got this done a week ago but the paint didn't match. I had to get it re-painted, and now it's closer than it was before. Not perfect, but very close . I also changed the LED's to red to better match the red gauges. I also changed the JDM AC controls from black back to the tan color of the stock and soldered the dual climate control back on.

Here's the pics, tell me what u think? I already know some people will think that it's too much, luckily i take constructive criticism very well... haha

Looks good, but are they functional? Can you see them alright without taking your eyes off of the road? Or, did you do this more for the look than the functionality?

Looks great! What are all the extra guages for? How hard was it to mod the ashtray like that? I'm thinking of doing a similar thing, and placing either a scratch pad, or track ball in there for my carputer - that will slide out with the ashtray to be used, but hide inside when shut. Since you played around in there, think that is do-able? I haven't taken any efforts to work it out yet.

Nice setup...I was wondering about the guages on the passenger side...did you remove the Navi DVD drive? I noticed that you still use the stock Navi. Do the gauges interfer with the the drive or did you relocate the drive?

In regards to functionality, the meters are rotated a little counter-clockwise and are pointed a tad towards the driver's side so the vantage point is more focused to the top rather to the right. If i had mounted it either as a pillar or on top of my dash, that of course would be the ideal solution. But in terms of subtle aesthetics, i feel the way i did it is the best of both worlds.

The ashtray was taken out and fiberglassed so the turbo timer and evc could be mounted. I'm not actually sure what you ar actually trying to fit for your track ball or touch pad, but here's a pic to show you how much room u have.

There was actually no room to relocate the navi without noticing it. Therefore the navi was still retained but behind all the meters. The only way to access the dvd drive now is to remove the whole gauge cluster off again. But how often are you going to update your navi disk anyways?
