a rule of thumb when trying to reduce weight............it's easier to find 10 places to loose 1 lb than 1 place to loose 10 lbs.

I would like to know as well. Our hood is pretty light already. But maybe CF hood will save us 5-10 lb. Remove seats and put in racing seats. That should save quite a bit. But it's still quite hard to get our cars under 3000lb. If our car is under 3000lb, I think we're probably looking @ mid 13sec car.

get lightweight wheels first. unsprung weight is about 4x static weight.

Forced induction (nos) will net you the biggest bang for the work
you put in...and it's pretty cheap.

If you are really serious about losing weight, you could always gut the interior. Strip the dash, pull all the insulation and sound deadening material. Pull out all the seats and just have one racing seat in there for yourself..... But then again that's only if your really serious

Lightweight wheels (equivilent to 100's of lbs with the right wheels and tires 18"), lightweight pulley's (about 7-8 lbs), remove all the extra plastic under the hood (1-2lbs), CF hood(...), fiberglass bodyparts(...), new glass all the way around (lightweight 1/2 as thick glass ... (chevy does this on the Z06's to save around 15-20lbs.)), lightweight seats should make a big difference, carbon fiber dash and trim... simply put, there are a lot of places to lose weight, and you can get really crazy by removing the A/C and power window motors and lots of other non essential for driving things, but for the money... GET NOS.

if you do a search, there was a thread about losing weight a while back that was over 100 posts long... it's been beaten to death...

btw, my car, with me in it, weighs under 3300 lbs with 1/4 tank, no spare/jack, backseat removed... (I think it was like 328X something) - and I weigh right around 180lbs...

#1 reason - no stupid-a$$ sunroof or leather seats!

Why would you buy an Infiniti if you don't want a sunroof or leather seats?? Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a Civic and throw a turbo in there and all that...and it would be cheaper then a G...
