Noisy new Pilot Sport... Balance issue?
I put on a new rear pilot sport (245/45/18) this past weekend on my 6mt coupe; got a cut tire, needed to be replaced.
The car handles great and drives like I just bought it. However, when I get up about 45mph+, I hear a rumble, rumble, rumble from the tire. The steering wheel is stable at these speeds, and I'm not feeling anything in my butt... So my initial thought is the tire is in balance... But what's the noise? Below 40mph, I can not hear the rumble.
I don't seem to remember the tires being that noisy when I bought the car, but maybe that's it? Are these tires loud for the first few hundred miles?
Or should I take it back in and have them check the balance on the wheel? I've experienced out of balance wheels before, so I'm fairly confident I could determine if that was it. I'm just not feeling it.

I agree. Take it back and have it checked for balance first. If that doesn't cure it- get a new tire. It's not totally uncommon for a defect in a tire. I've had a number of them with different makes.

That was the first thing I checked when I got the car back. I'll double-check again to make sure.
