Speed Channel: GTO vs G35 vs 330ci vs Mustang GT
I agree, this will be a great event to watch but the GTO will come out all around best due to the sponsorship - outcomes are predetermined before the event even happens because of one thing - MONEY!!!!!
However, it will be good to see what kind of numbers they get on the '05 G.

ya i agree this is a price range event.
if it was a performance range event, it would have been awesome... with the likes of the m3, s4 (or even rs4), c55 amg.... but then the G35c would be a laggard.
There were a couple of GTO's at the last autocross I went to. One had suspension mods (not sure about engine mods). They were both slower than me!
And I've only done 1 other autocross before that one.

What is crazy is how this 6.0L 400hp V-8 gets the same fuel economy as the 3.5L DOHC 24 valve 298hp V-6 in the G35C.
Oh, and you really think a 6.0l engine with 400 torque is not going to get worse gas mileage? The listed mileage is granny driving, not 400 ft/lbs of torque driving (aka normal driving). <shrug> I dunno just seems to me like that's not going to be the case...
According to fueleconomy.gov the G35's combined gas mileage (city+highway avg) is 20 mpg (which most people here seem to get on average), whereas the GTO's is 18 mpg

Gto
Guys who cares anyways. Its a freakin PONTIAC thats all you gotta keep in mind. In my opinion GTO is for guys that think they are the sh** and they are ontop of the world. Some guy I know thinks hes Andretti with his GTO and the funny thing is that I beat him every time cause he cant drive for sh**. I know im 18 and I can be a little nieve, but think about it we have so much more pride in our cars. If you gave a lady the choice I gurantee you our car would come ontop 10/10 times every single time. G35 vs gto wow who cares, slap a turbo or sc on our car and well see who talks espcially with a 3.5 liter engine! In my opinion PONTIAC is a bunch of losers, my friend has one and we all rip on him all day. We tell him its like buying a "poor mand ferrari" or look I think i own a vet but i dont!

Sounds like a BMW driver putting down a G driver?!?!?!?
GTO's a nice car.. Just not for me.. To each his own..
bmw
Who cares about BMW's too. My parents own like 4 of them. Yeah their nice car, but every guy that thinks hes the ****, or every teen kid my age (18) that thinks hes a hard ***, or that hes got money buys a bmw. I always tell them to be original and get something that you like rather than something for a name. Funny thing is this kid that thinks hes the sh** on my block, his parents got him a 330i and he thinks hes the hottest kid. Funny thing is that I get way more looks from girls and people in general rather than his car. I mean the g35 is just a stud of a car. Especially with my mods and stuff I have done. The best is when I let my gf take it with her friends cause I was at my house with my friends at my house, and she went to pick up some drinks at jewel. She told me all these people wouldnt stop looking at her, and some young kid with his friends were in an audi, and he was blowing kisses at her. She put down the window and said, stop acting like your the sh** in your car cause my b/f g is way nicer. So this kid had the audacity to try to race her, and my g/f is totally fun like that and she smokes this kid, and his friends were laughing at him in his car, while my gf and her 3 friends were laughing in mine. Just thought I would also share a little story.

...And then she was like "shut up", but then he was like "no, you shut up", and then she was like, "no, YOU shut up" and then he was like, "no, you shut up" and then she was like "well, you started it" and then he was like "did not" and then she was like " did too" and then he was like "did not" and then she was like "did too", and then he was like " shut up"...
I will be in the hospital that day. I won't be home until sometime that next week. Can someone tape it and post it so that I can see it while I am laying in bed recovering at home??? I get speedvision too which is rare. Too bad I won't be able to catch it

I can if someone sends me a PM a week before the show comes on to remind me. I can't get my TIVO to record something that far away.

Straight-line, brute performance - GTO
Decent all-around performance, luxury, refinement - G
