got '05 stereo replaced

just got back from the dealership where my stereo was replaced because of the +5 treble/bass problem. but nothing has changed . i still have the same issues with the stereo zeroing out after i shut the car off. on top of that i got a small scuff mark on my ash tray... whatever, not too noticeable so it's not worth my energy to fight. looks like i'm definitely gonna go aftermarket sometime this summer. i attached my work order in case anyone wants to look at the part number. question though... techie kept referring to clarion when we talked about the hu... i'm assuming they are under the same umbrella as bose then... or is it something else?? later all.

no, clarion is not associated with bose. Bose just makes the amp and speakers. Clarion has a unit for their OEM Nissan dealings. Often techs and customer care can speak directly to the Clarion people and/or engineers. They are actually really nice people, but man that stuff is junk.

whoa!! They did remove alot of parts. I hope you do not incur additional noises (rattles, creeks or vibration) as a result of removing/replacing parts..

that's something that concerned me when i took it in. but i'm 90% sure i'll swap out my hu this summer anyways. so i'll have the aftermarkert guy look after it if i hear anything out of the ordinary. i did find an 'extra' part on the floor though. i didn't even mention it... just got the hell out of there (had lots of work waiting for me at the plant). almost looks like a hairclip. anyone know if this belongs in my car somewhere?? i attached a pic of it unlatched. why does dealership service have to suck so bad?

To get the head unit out, you have to remove all those parts. I've done it twice to my G (added a PlayStation 2 connected to the Nav)- it's no big deal, no rattles at all in my case.

there is way too much "A$$" on that image... and they did remove a lot of things for the HU.

I am going to be doing the same as I have the same issues with the +5 bass/treble.

Hey did they have to order the new HU for you or they had it in stock??

have u guys noticed this on ur 05 coupe's also, whenever i listen to say a rock cd, a check the setting for bass and treble; they are all +5 but it doesnt sound like it. So i bring it down to three and then back to 5 and it sounds awesome. Is this just a once case scenario or are other people noticing this also. Should i get it checked out by the dealer or not.

Bass & Tremble....LOL. So I guess a replacement isn't going to be a fix. That's too bad. The Bass & Treble adjust is now just a routine thing I do after turing on the ignition
