The non-bose system, is satellite ready if you buy the receiver. I bought mine online for about $200. So even though you have the "SAT" button, you'll need to buy the receiver and plug it into the wiring harness located in left side of the trunk underneath the cover. Then you'll have to suscribe to the service. Hope this answered you question. Also try this link to a DIY.

So after installing the XM/Sirius receiver can you use the steering wheel controls and the stock radio buttons? Will it have the running title screen? Or does everything have to be controlled through the xm/sirius aftermarket display unit? That is what I mean by "ready."

Yes, you will be able to use the steering wheel control features after installing the satellite receiver in the trunk. I don't believe it has the running screen capability, but yes the stock stereo will provide the title on the display, so no aftermarket display unit is needed. Everything is done with your stock stereo interfacing with the satellite receiver. I think the model is made by clarion. Basically you'll need to buy the receiver, and the antenna. Here's a link to one of the places online that sells this stuff, but I'd shop around. I'm sure there's somewhere cheaper.
