This is one of the oldest threads I've seen surface, 15 years old I hope no one has their service done at stores like PepBoys or Sears! That's like watching a monkey f*ck a football! Took my wife's Vet with a sears battery to be tested, they removed it for the test (not needed) and couldn't get it back in...without my help.

I had some wheels put on my truck when I was a kid and they needed to put new lug nuts on. Well, they didn't have the proper length lugs, so just used shorter ones. I went to retorque them the next day and 2 nuts were cracked and they were all too short. Went back there the next day and they told me they knew they were too short, but didn't have the proper lugs on hand, so just put the shorter ones on. What...the..fukc..

Not every lube shop is horrible. Otherwise, these shops wouldn't remain open if they messed up every car. I part time at a jiffylube and can honestly say I've seen horrible cars come in who's last service was at a dealership. I'm talking about over-torqued drain plugs and filters. Not to mentioned dry-gasketed filters. I've even had a customer car come in who's dealership used 5w-30 oil on a car that requires 0w-20. I know what I'm doing and so does everyone that works underneath the car. If you don't like the shop's brand of oil/filter, you can always buy your own and have them do the service. Especially if you live in apartments or condos where you can't work on your own car. Just shop around for a good shop if you can't do it yourself. Quick lube shops have a bad rep. But not all are created equal.

I'm glad there are good honest guys like you who know what they're doing, but sadly for you, its an uphill battle to convince others of that by the way some d-bags have acted or are still acting elsewhere.
