Question New G - Oil under hood

So, I've had my new 05 Coupe for about a week. And I noticed when I popped the hood, there's this oily substance that seems to be sprayed everywhere. It's pretty obvious, you can run your finger through and leave a line. It's not motor oil, it seems to be really clear. Except for where it's collecting dirt and turning into grime. It's mostly noticable on the plastic parts like the plenum cover, hoses, wire covers. As well as where most of the rubber weatherseal gaskets meet the body.

I'm wondering if this is some kind of spray the dealer or factory uses to protect or make stuff look shiny. Silicone perhaps?

Is this a common thing to find with a new Infiniti? I've searched the forums, but only found one mention that never seemed to have been resolved.

Anyone have the same thing?? And what's the best way to get rid of it? Or should I?

Yes the dealer details the underhood with this stuff. It looks great but like you said, it collects dirt and ends up looking like crap.
