My First Ding

My wife noticed my Coupe has a small ding in the rear right quarter panel... Waah.. My first ding in my beautiful car... sigh... It's inevitable, but never fun...

Re: My First Ding

most little dings can be popped back out with ease and with perfect results
but the longer you wait to fix it, the harder it will be. (assumming you do it yourself)

just make sure you keep that area waxed really good after you pop it back out because the clearcoat might be cracked.

Re: My First Ding

Ask your dealer about ding doctors...costs about 70 bucks but well worth it!!!

Re: My First Ding

I have a very small ding on the rear right quarter panel also.

Our G's body is pretty weak or feels pretty thin compared to my other cars.

Re: My First Ding

How long have you had it? I'm just wondering how long I can realistically expect to be ding free.

Re: My First Ding

Hahaha, So far I've avoided all those "Ding Heads" (good one Merlin) and am ding free after 5 months. After I park tho I walk a lot.

Re: My First Ding

I know how ya feel man...I'm meticulous about parking away from anyone else in the parking lot. Yet our Gs seem to attract curiosity cuz someone inevitably will park next to you and ding it. That's what happened to me twice, and MAN was I pissed. Took the G to a Paintless Dent Removal place, and they got both out quickly and painlessly. Cost me about $40/ding and now good as new.

Re: My First Ding

I got a ding on the left rear quarter panel at 500 miles. I called a guy out and he removed it for $75. He had to remove the interior paneling behind the ding. The body looks perfect but there is a little scratch from where the door hit.

Re: My First Ding

I scratched my G after 5 days. Man alive I'm retarded. I was pulling into a parking spot that was next to an island so only 1 person could park next to me and I scraped the underside of my front bumper. You can't see it unless you know to look for it. My boss fixes cars in his garage and as soon as the weather gets nice (and constant) we're going to fix it. Man I'm dumb!

Re: My First Ding

got you all beat. after just 3 weeks, 4th time my wife drove the car. comes back and the right front bumper is scraped all the way down to the base. on a perl white car, any large black spot tends to stand out. $700 to take off the front bumper, sand it down & repaint it. $250 to reinstall the clear bra, which i just paid $695 to have put on last week. 3 days for a rental car.... sigh...

Re: My First Ding

nobody said upkeep for these cars wouldn't be pricey... we all care a lot about our cars, so anytime something small/big happens, we want it fixed right away... i wonder if corolla owners have that same dilemma... hmmm....
