regret buying a TL, should i trade for a g35?
a stock G35 does not handle all that beautifully in stock form imho regardless
of its MFR platform. it's mostly marketing hype. I know plenty of FF cars that
can do circles around the G through the turns.
I think the best thing to do at this moment would be to mod the TL's sus
with adjustable struts and rear swaybar. That alone will sharpen your car's
ride/handling tremendously.
If you have cash to burn, I guess you can trade the TL in for a new or used G if you
like the G that much. My personal favorites in this segment are the G35C and TL.

You are obviously suffering from buyer's remorse. My advise would be to wait a few months, drive the TL, get to know it. Maybe after that time you'll be happy you bought it. The TL is a very nice car. In many ways nicer than the G.
If you simply can't live with the TL or without the G, I'd look at trading your 05 TL in for an 04 G. That way the hit won't be as big, or you may not even get hit.
And what's so bad about TL owners reading and posting on this forum? We're all car enthusiasts. Why can't we learn from each other? Let's all get along.

hahahaSame here. I was actually really considering the TL but then just decided to go with the G without test driving either car. The TL is a really nice car though.
bottom line is that you are going to take a hit... weather you trade it in or sell it privately...
if you are ready to take the hit... (which should be in the ball park of about 4 to 5K) then go now to the infi dealer... but if thats too much of a hit... then wait it out... keep the TL for abt a year... and maybe your hit might not be as bad...
nonetheless... make the trip to the dealer and see how bad it can be... and this time do test drive the G

fotodad ... best advice so far... i agree with this guy ... on all the points he is making... specially abt reading and posting on this forum.
I had the misfortune once to buy an extra service warrenty on a new car. There was an out, however. It was refundable (in part) if I sold it durring the period of the contract. I had to stand on the dealers neck to get him to sign the check, but I got the money. Your's might have something similar.
go to the dealer, test drive a g35 see how it feels i know for sure you wont be dissapointed. but for a luxury sedan, the g35 lacks the interior quality the acuras have
but if i were you, and i could afford a 40k car, i would go ahead and put in a few more g's to buy a bmw 530i, or even better the new infiniti m45

I currently have a 2002 TL Type-S and just picked up my 05 G35C less than a week ago. So far, I love the G, however, I have a couple of gripes for a car that stickered almost $39K. The HID's and the stock stero in the G are nowhere near the quality in my Acura. If they are both HID's, why does the Acura make the G's HID look so yellow?

my advise to you is hold on to your tl for a while until the new g35 with single turbo(been rumored alot here) come out in 07 or 06. my wife drives an 04 accord v6 and when i test drove the tl it basically felt the same as her accord, so i decided to pass.
If it were me, I'd take the money you're gonna lose in trading to use for modding the TL. Just changing the wheels and tires makes a big difference. If that isn't enough then you go further with suspension mods. The TL has certain advantages over the G35...mainly comfort and better interior. You can make your TL sportier but you can't make the G35 have a better quality interior. Since the TL has a sporty shape you'd be getting the best of both worlds. I myself am a rear wheel drive fanatic but I don't have to drive in snow either. Keep the TL.
if u want ***** out performance within that price range i suggest you just wait for the lancer evolution 9 MR to come out,... i've decided to leave my G stock with minor suspension upgrades for autox right now then use it as a daily driver when the Evo9 MR comes out.... it'll be my toy car for autox/track
Depending how badly you were upside down before the TL if you were at all. The TL actually holds its value very very good. So you might only loose a few grand at the most. I really hope you didn't go from 35k to 40k. If your at 40k, you won't be able to get out of your car without a lot more down.

my TL was $33k, $35K with tax, but i did get all the warranties and navi. so i paid about almost $40k out the door. i pretty much got sucked in. i have 3500 miles
i was scared of getting a RWD car, but i just realized that it only snows about 10x a year here in NY. i need help man. i'm guessin that insurance should be the same for either car right?
need your advice guys, thanks

power both are pretty much neck to neck, so if you don't mind to drive in snow with the G then you should get one over the TL
I love my TL and it never gave me any trouble in snow storms
