IMO, this was the perfect location for the concealled display because I don't have to move my head at all and I can still see the arrows and everything else I it displays.

I tucked the wires in this hole i found that went through from passenger side foot area to driver side foot area.

Soo.. what do you guys think? btw, it's my first mod besides tint and K&N Typhoon CAI.

We must think alike.

I have the concealed unit in the exact spot you put it but I have the wires running behind the navi in the little gap between the alum trim and the dash. I have the V1 mounted to the right of the rear-view mirror instead of the clip. The same general idea I guess.

Question, If you have your V1 on your visor, isn't your head or the rear window over lay deflecting?

1. The V1 is on the passenger side visor, so my head is not in the way
2. You can't see it, but i put a sponge between the visor and the roof, and it levels out perfectly. It has a perfect view of the back, where it would be obscured by the curvature (sp?) of the roof if the sponge wasn't there. It also as a clear view right under the front windshield sun tint thing.

AIGHT , I have mine in plain view, jus under the Rear View mirror and go by the cops all the time and never get hassled. I have the Escort Solo2 though, and no I'm not comparing the two. There both GREAT products

I would suggest a hard-wire instead of the 12-volt outlet.

Sorry to hijack your thread a little, but I've been thinking on gettin a radar detector, but I have a question...

Do you guys leave them on when you park and leave your car? I mean, is it safe to leave it there? I have never heard of windows being blasted to steal a radar detector, but then again, I havn't lived in the US all my life.

^Good advise.....it would make your mod look cleaner! Do a search and you'll see how to do it!

Good job though, I like it!

I wanted to hard wire it, but too afraid to dissect or fiddle with the car. I'll definitely think about it again. thanks!

I live in Vancouver, BC (go Canada!! anyone?? ) and it's usually pretty safe around my hood so I leave it on. However, I always take it off in sketchy areas like downtown or east van (no offense). Having tinted windows helps a bit, but just to be on the safe side...

I always take it down. Sometime like a V1 is probably worth it to break in and take for a thief. Alot of people leave it up but for me, that's a no-no.

Better safe than sorry. It takes like 2 seconds to take it down and another 2 seconds to reinstall into the suction cups.

^ yes it does take 2 seconds, but that means you will get a big amount of dirt circle marks on your windshield. If you never remove it, it wont need to be cleaned all the time.

Dirt circles are easier to clean than your busted passenger side window off of your seats and carpet. And cheaper. Trust me.
