Location is Chicago, where it does snow in winter, but its not the worst state to be in for snow.

and it will be a daily driver in heavy traffic going to work and back home.

Don't even consider driving a Corvette in the snow. It's not even an option. The C6 is fine for a daily driver, EXCEPT in snow. If it snows and you need to get somewhere, you're going to either have to take the bus or call in sick to work if the C6 is your only car. The G35 6MT isn't much better, but it is easier to fit snow tires on it which at least make the car driveable in the snow.

I would go with the used C6, but I would have a winter car too, even if its just a $500 beater POS with FWD - just something to drive in the snow. I wouldn't live in Chicago with just a C6 as my only car. Florida, fine. Not Chicago. You guys get enough snow each winter that its an issue.

I don't think a corvette is meant to be a daily driver in traffic with a long commute. I can't imagine taming that power in stop and go traffic. Of course if you do get a C6, it has to be manual. It would be a serious setback if it was auto.

It's not because it's an auto or slower, it's just the fun factor in driving a manual sports car. The bad part is sitting in traffic with a manual hence a C6 is better off as a weekend car.

I just realized I get a GM supplier discount, I looked online and I could get a c6 brand new for about 6k off MSRP

Cheapest already built in a dealers inventory I found was 43,500 for suppliers only.

So if I saved up for about a year, I could get a vette new, since I'd have alot saved up.

As of June 1, 2005, Corvette is no longer eligible for GMS -
