Unforunately, it is true.

And I'd take a used C6 over a G35 Coupe or current M3, previous M5, 911S, Cayman, Boxter S, etc -

unless I find one cheap since there are none right now, I will go with the g35 fully loaded.

I want the c6 but cheapest I see right now is 46k

Since my supplier discount wont work when I actually have the money.

G35 for practicallity, 4 seater, trunk space, smoother ride, more luxurious interior, not cheap plastics like most domestics

The C6 is just awesome compared to the C5. It's a totally different animal than the G though. Really depends on what you want out of the car.

Id basically be getting the c6 for its SPEED.

It only has 2 seats, so you cant drive friends around.

I wish it had 4 seats!!!

It would be kinda hard to have my daily driver to work a 2 seat vette. But I still love em lol

Sometimes the guys that own one car or the other aren't the right guys to ask this question.

I was making the same decision between the Z06 and the G35 a couple of years ago myself and choose the G35. Now that I've been-there-done-that with the G35 I'm ready to move on to something else. Not necessarily because I don't like the G35 (I still do) I'm just a grass-is-greener kinda guy and get bored with cars (any car) quickly.

A C6 would be fun to own but if I had been driving a C6 for the last few years I'd probably be ready to move on to something new by now...(probably something more practical with 4 seats like a G35).

More changes to the GM discounts:

If you're NOT a GM employee, it *looks* like you're OK, however, finding a GM dealer to accept GMS discount on a Corvette is pretty difficult right now.

I have owned both vitage muscle and newer imports. i feel that both can be used for daily basis, but to be honest, if your worried about servicing your ride, think abou this. although the infinti block is technologically great, it cant beat out the 50+years of reliability of GM V8s. not to mention, there is at least 15 dealers in every major city and 3 in every small one. where as the infiniti has 1 per city and the next nearest one is usually 60 miles away. if a gm V8 breaks, there are parts and mechanics to fix it, i have owned 3 gm v8( 225hp - 400hp ones) and never had any major mechanical problems. the g i own is my first import over 25K, and i hope and pray everyday that it will hold up as my other motors have. my last V8 with 325 hp, has 177k miles and 14 years on it.
other than that, you must have considered versitility. where the C6 can carry more stuff, the G has a back seat. one can carry luggage and the other... triplets! your call.

GM has been on and off on including the Corvette in the special purchase plans.

Summary:
Effective June 1, the Corvette is eligible for purchase under the Supplier plan, the Dealer Employee plan, and the GMID plan. At present GM Employees (GMS) cannot purchase a Corvette under the plan.

Have a great weekend,
Ken Fichtner

Looks like I can still use the supplier plan to get a c6, on the supplier website there are dealers around me and one of them actually has 5 c6's that show his price and the supplier price. Does that meen he will sell them?
