if you look at the first picture, you can see that a part of the rear bumper does indeed stick out like crazy

and I thought our cars have big butts, this new test mule got a way phatter booty.

Anyone notice the front and rear tires don't seem to have the same diameter? Are we not getting AWD or what? Also, note the underbody air diffuser in the rear. My only concern with an FI VQ engine is that if they don't mount it lower, the center of gravity would be quite high.

I wouldn't be suprised if the GT-R was offered in AWD and RWD versions.

i agree....it looks out of place because they need to test the technology....the final GT-R will have a revised body which will most likely be more aggressive too

Agreed. Definitely not the final production GT-R. Similar pictures have been posted and this topic has been discussed many times. Basically, anything right now is just pure speculation. Nissan has done an excellent job keeping this underwraps and I highly doubt they'd drive one of the most anticipated released in broad daylight with no blackouts. We won't know anything for sure till the 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon when its expected to be unveiled, so lets just leave it at that.

Here's an article from Autoweek that was written back in March in regard to whether the GT-R will be badged Nissan or Infiniti: http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=101927 . Read up, it makes sense. Sure Infiniti could use more of a sports car but with all of the popularity, reputation, and history to the "Nissan Skyline GT-R" name, it would be foolish on Nissan part to badge it an Infiniti and drop the name. Demand for previous model GT-R's is huge (look at Motorex and what they charge for these things and still recieve a lot of business) and how some of us (me included) have changed our badging to the JDM set. Not to mention, and Infiniti badge one these could potentially mean a higher price tag. Just stuff to think about.

I agree with everything you said except for the badging part. If I'm right about the GT-R's price at $55k, then it will need to be an Infiniti. America is the biggest car market for any manufacturer, so Nissan needs to rethink about releasing this car as a Nissan. The $20k difference between Nissan's flagship (Maxima) and the GT-R may be too much of a shock for your average Nissan consumer. Does Nissan really want a sports car as their flagship? Probably a bad idea. However, a $55k Infiniti GT-R would fit nicely between a base M45 and a Q45. Most luxury marque consumers seldom leave the luxury marque, they just switch manufacturers. Yes, this is pretty shallow thinking, but it's business, not personal. I for one, won't buy it if it's a Nissan due to their service. My buddy has a Murano and even we technically both have Nissan's, we've discovered the difference in service. He's considering an Infiniti now because he can't stand Nissan's service.

Very cool. Seeing those pictures makes me even happier to buy a 03 CB g35. The body of this car doesn't look like it's going to get a major earth shattering overhaul just mainly step up the power gain. I could care less about that b/c it's a car and who cares about speed in a car, bikes are where it's at. Anyhow very cool continue with the assumptions

Sorry to bust everyone's bubble, but this is just a shell... in fact, Nissan is throwing everyone off because not only will the next GT-R not look anything like the current G, but instead will be based more off the Z's styling in a 2+2 package...

This is everyone's best guess as of now (we'll see for sure in October)...

Interesting pictures they're bzabodyn and those tailights look very familiar.

Like both you, I, and the person before me said, no one truly has a clue except for Nissan. The generated images bza posted seem like a worthy guess, but just for the hell of it, lets take a look at how the suspected GT-R has evolved.

1st pic is the R35 concept shown at the Tokyo Auto Show a few years back, second is bza's pic, and third is the alledged test mule. A couple similiarities but a lot of differences, so all we can do is wait and see.
