sports car
noun
1. A small fast car, usually a two-seater, often with a low-slung body which has a roof that can be removed or folded back, and which has particularly quick acceleration.
While there is no specific definition of sports car even counting that above, the G35 is a touring car not a sports car while the S2000 is a sports car. However, handling is the emphasis not speed or straight line acceleration. Look at the Miata.
America have great open space with long stretches of straight road so we love straight line performance, so having a true sports car is not that important to many. If you go with the S2000 I hope you are truly someone who enjoys the handling, and not a 1/4mi or straight line racing type. Otherwise you will still be disappointed.

I went from an S2K to a G35c and sometimes I miss the S2K. If the S2K is practical for you, do it.

He was talking about the STi or EVO which would blow the S2000 away in twisties or straight line. Probably more fun to drive too, but I wouldn't know, I've never driven either one.
Edit: Come to think of it all 4 cars he listed would blow the s2000 away on a track.

The S2000 is a fun car but it may not be a practical choice for daily commuting or long distance (anything more than 4 hours).
Think carefully about what you plan to use the S2000 for.
I have the S2000 and it's a hoot but I think I'll go nuts if I have to drive it for a month straight.
I'm not saying you shouldn't get the S2000 but give serious thought to getting a beater car if you do get it.
