Thinking about Selling G and Getting a S2000
i owned a 2004 berlina black S2000 and i traded it back in. i loved, absolutley loved the lightness of the car, the engine was awesome and the performance was very very pleasing. i would get another one in a second IF... i had another car too. i want a G35c so bad now. the S was an awesome vehicle, still one of my dream cars, but its not practical.
TheGest- I'd trade you but I'm looking to get back into an automatic equipeed car. (Let the flames begin.) Plus I think I got a deal going right now and may be in a G before the end of next week. YEAH FOR ME! You'll love the S2000 though. It's definitely a looker. Take care.

Sorry they are a good track car, but so isn't the Miata, and you would never catch me in one as a daily driver!!!!
Plus w/ the new engine you are getting screwed out of 2k rpm's and my true Honda enthusiast brothers are not happy with this! But hey just my .02

I like the S2000 also, but down here in S. FL, the only people I see driving them are bald guys w/ goatees and rainbow stickers on the bumper!!!!!

Look into the Lotus elise. Quicker and better handling than the S2000 and it has a Toyota powertrain. S is a nice car but styling is dated now and the 05 doesn't really outperform the 00 model. Also when the thrill of the handling wears off a bit and you are looking for more power you will find the S can't really be modded for much more grunt except with forced induction. Also consider an 01-02 Bimmer M Roadster. Handles almost as well as the Honda and will absolutely rape it in a straight line(13.1 vs 14.0 1/4 mile).

If you're only 20, I think you'll be very happy with the s2000 rather than the g35. Although the G is very nice and has a good combination of sport and luxury, I think the s2000 is much more fun to drive. The handling of the G is very disappointing. Even though I love my car, my is300 is more fun to drive (and has less rattles).
STI and EVO would definitely out-perform the s2k, but the s2k just looks more sporty... and it's convertible! I'd prefer s2k or 330cic over an STI (ugly) and EVO (so so).

I think the G35 to S2000 trade is well worth it if you want a focused, nimble sports car. They are two cars that are worlds apart in their personality. I love the S2000 and I would have one if I didn't have a bike. Just because the two cars have similar 0-60 numbers doesn't make these cars the same.
I didn't bother to read all 4 pages, but anyone who's bashing S2k's performance doesn't really know what it's capable of. It handles so damn well. It WILL beat the 350Z around the track, let alone G35. S2k is not about power... it's all about handling and overall balance. Straight line performance might be about even, but when it comes to handling, G is no match for S2k. I would personally have an S2k right now if I didn't need some space to carry my stuff... even G35C was pushing it.
I had an '02 s2k and LOVED IT! It was an absolute blast to drive (except in the snow or even the rain...) It is one of those cars that when you see another one driving, you look at the driver with a certain respect for making such a good choice.
You are 20 so it is perfect. Drive it hard, have fun and take pics so you can show your kids one day. I had the top cut and seats swiped in my driveway. Plus I couldn't get a baby seat into it and my wife wouldn't drive a stick, so it had to go (sheds a tear...)
I have since moved on to the G35 and love the luxury sport qualities, but I'm 34.
Get the S2000 now and rev away!

i am getting kinda pissed with the handling of the G but maybe some sway bars and strut bar will help a little. s2k is ridiculously small inside and has nothing going for it but the sick handling.
