Thinking about Selling G and Getting a S2000
TheGest- If you do change your mind I can put you in contact with the Honda dealership that has my 2004 S2000. The dealership is in Longview, Texas. My car is in excellent condition. It's got 921 miles on it and always given lots of TLC. The exterior color is Grand Prix White with the Black and Tan leather interior. Only option is the OEM rear spoiler. Let me know. Take care.

After you take care of the handling mods throw on a turbonetics st for $4600 plus $800 for install (no tuning required as it comes with flashed ECU). After the suspension mod you will be looking at those S2K's in your rear view mirror in the twisties. As far as the straight runs you don't need turbo to take an S2K but it sure is nice to take them by many seconds.....

However, for me...the G is the way to go...I like the luxury.
anyone who says a S2k is "slow" or slower than a G, thats cuz u dont no how to drive it. in fact, MOST S2k owners dont even know how to get the full potential outta the car. thats why u see most mags get 5.9 to 6 secs 0-60. most also pull high 14's, or even low 15 (if u really really suck at driving it) on the s2k..but thats all cuz most dont know how to drive it.
there are many tests show that the S can be driving in the 5.5 or lower to 60 and low 14 or evne high 13, 1/4. it is just HARDER to drive fast than the Z or G (with more torq). from a roll, it's even harder to get S to go as fast as those two cars, but hey, its a sports car that requires to be learned to drive it fast. takes more skills than just mashing the gas peddle.
as for handling...Z or G...no even M3 can compare. there are plenty of videos (dont have it on hand..) from the best motoring japan..the S2k out handles ALL of those listed. in a straight line it is slower than a M3, bout even with the Z, and a bit faster than a G....
out of a turn going into a straight, Z can pull on the S with it's torq, but G goes into the corner much faster with it's lighter body and better handling. on a role, Z usually pulls harder... so torq dose help.
my point is... if a Z is just bout as fast (maybe a tad faster with his much higher torq) with the S and slower in the corners... how can a G beat it? lol..
just like everyone said, G is a great looking lux sporty car.. its not a real sports car. and sure it can be made faster in corners and straigthline (FI)..but it still wont be a real sports car, due to how its set up and its weight. the Z is the sports car (altho its still a heavy pig for a sports car).
im in a similar boat as u.. tho my situation is that i have driven the S2k many times..really love it. would love to have one, but its not practical enough for me if it's my DD and only car. thats why my choices are M3 and G.. thought bout the Z, but its not as practical and the interior is crappy.
i still got time to decide..haha..if i do get an S2k, i'll need a beater. however, i live in VA, so for winter, i may still need a beater... shoot.. so now im back to square one..haha.
they are both GREAT cars and GREAT looking (yes, i think S2k is great looking and it will look great even 5 to 10 years down the road..however, i dont no bout the Z or G..its more common) and both perform great for diff crowd and buit differently for diff purpose.
we'll c.. but my choice is still leaning towards to G more..
now, my questions is (sorry this is off the topoic a lil).. would u rather get a 04 Gcoup 6 speed or 05? i love the new interior and the improvement..dont like the lost torq and NO BREMBO
...
finally, goodluck with ur choice..

for those who think the S2000 is equal to the G35 in the handling department come check out this vid. THe S2000 caught up to the 360 but was not able to pass it due to lack of power but handling wise, it's no slouch. I don't think any G35C can do this.

there are several other vids you can check out.

there's even a G35C vs S2000 on the track. I have no idea how that came out b/c my computer doesn't recognize the file
