Thinking about Selling G and Getting a S2000
#46
I also recently switched from a '00 S2000 to a '03 G35 Coupe MT. I owned the S2000 for 2.5 years and it was my daily driver. It's only been about a month since I made the switch but I will say I'm pleased with my decision. The S2000 was just getting to cramped for me, I needed the extra room.
It was always a blast to jump in the S2000, put the top down, and rev the car to 9k. Its just more of a drivers car, you feel connected with it since the cockpit is tight and holds you in. The G35 seems to be more of a cruiser that gets me from point A to point B comfortably, but still has the power to make it fun.
Both cars are great and I know you'll be happy with whatever decision you make!

the g35, in my opinion, isnt made to be "quick" and for people to race it around on the streets.. STOCK that is
for a little quickness you're leaving one of the best looking cars ever made

ya it is different, i just never realized how much i love that light sports car feel, until i turned in my lude and got G, and than drove a S2K. its so nimble light and fast, it really feels like a drivers car, it would really nice to own a S2K another car a daily driver to get point A to B.

TheGest- I wish you the best of luck in your situation. I currently own a 2005 S2000 that I'm looking to trade in for a G Coupe. I have driven both and agree that the S2K definitely handles better and is more exciting to drive. But at the end of the day, I'd feel that the G Coupe is the car for me. I'm more of a 'cruiser' than a 'racer' if that makes any sense. Take care. And enjoy the VTEC something I'll miss...

I own both car's, 04' G35c, and 00' S2000...and must say both car's are absolutely amazing!! The S2K is much more nimble, and make's the G feel like a big heavy boat, but the G's comfort's, make the S2000 feel like a slave ship! If you want a smooth, quality, "riding in style" and laid back kind of ride, go with the G35...however if you want a fun little go-kart, that scream's and rev's forever, and feel's like your in a cockpit with just a steering wheel, shifter, and clutch/gas peddels, go with the S2000! There's just no driving experience like it!
However I must say it is nice to own both, this way I never get stuck on a long road trip with the S2K, and never have to beat on my "luxury" coupe! (not like it stop's me anyway)
Good luck with your new car...you'll be more then happy with either...just consider what you really want and need out of a car.

Going from a G35C to an S2000 will have more "impact" than going from the S2000 to the Lotus. Just my view. If it was my $$ I know what I would do.

LOL thats the first time I've ever heard anyone call the G the "BIG SLUG." You should get a bumper sticker. You are comparing a Luxury Coupe to a roadster; two different classes of cars. If you can afford to swap out a brand new G for a S2000 you could afford a M3 or like a 1 year old M3... If I were you and looking at roadsters I would also strongly consider a Vett, the S2000 is fun, but without mods on the s2k I would still rather have the pure power of the Vett. At the end of the day I'm more than happy with the power and handling of the G which is why I got it; to each's own.
