Online Auto Negotiators

Has anyone had any experience with Auto Negotiators (people who would negotiate for you) ???

They charge like couple of 100 bucks to get a good deal.

I am not at all a good negotiator. Already being ripped by the dealers.

Thanks

My friend went through a broker. You basically just tell them I want this car with this options and I will not pay any more than $XXXXX.

With the way dealer inventories are kept on the web now it's probably easier for you to do the negotiating yourself. Just remember you don't have to pay any more than you want to. If the dealer doesn't want to give you a certain price walk away and go to someone who will.

GZire is right, you really just have to be disciplined enough to set a "ceiling" price for yourself and just stick with it. Don't be afraid to walk out. I actually negotiated online via email with every dealership within a 50 mile radius of me before I stepped onto a lot. Good luck.

1. go to the dealer yourself and see what price you can get... you dont have to buy a car... but it will be good just for the experience... and knowing whether an online neg. did get you a good deal.

2. send the online neg. or broker to the same dealership and have them negotiate the final price.

this will give you the difference between what you could have got and what the broker got you. be realistic in your ceiling price. research and see what people in your area are paying for the car you want.

in my experience some dealers might give you a good deal without the broker, after all they are sitting there to do business, but you will need to ask the right questions, hold your ground and be willing to walk out.

I did go to a dealer before and he said "well this is a hot selling car, we sell only at MSRP. There is no dealer invoice. People pay MSRP for this car"

I just walked away because I was there for a test drive. But most dealers are far away from where I live at and so the best way for me to deal is email or phone.

Thats why I asked about online negotiators.

Looking to buy 05 6MT with Premium Package, Splash Guards and Trunk Mat. Illinois based.

CarsDirect: Invoice
Car - 30,096
Package - 2110

ok so you did whatever you could.
from what I am seeing on the forums, myself included eventhough this is a hot selling car, people have being paying a little over invoice and a lot below MSRP. A good ball park that I have noticed is 500 to 1000 over invoice, regardless of what package you choose or the transmission.

however for a MT you might have to wait a few months as for the AT they should be on the lots. Depends on your luck on whats available with the dealer. Also check out carsdirect.com you can buy cars online and not get into the hassels of meeting the dealer, thats just another idea as compared to the negotiators.

good luck.
