So, I got in my car tonight and was ready to go out for dinner. Turned the key on and there it is --- Service Engine Soon!! My car only has 2,700 miles and the dreaded CEL comes on. Did any one of you experience this problem before? What happen to the Japanese reliability? The message on my nav said I should not even be driving the car at all, WTF? I went ahead and drove the crap out of it. As I see, it the car is still under warranty and if it breaks, Infiniti has better fix it or I sue them under the lemon law. I am pissed!! What a way to start a weekend.

Have you gas up recently? loose filler cap will send the CEL warnning light on...

 

most commonly an emissions issue (like an O2 sensor) which is warranty covered, don't sweat it...

 

or yes, the gas cap as lime said. happened to me!

 

Try doing an ECU reset. You'll find methods in our DIY/FAQ forum.
Let the dealer check it out for you. Can't be too serious.
