Dead Battery - Bad Design?

How come when I leave the key in the ignition, in the OFF position, my battery dies after approx. 24hrs? This never happened on my prior cars...

With the key in the completely off state this should do nothing. Once you do a turn then accessory power comes on and that will definitely drain your battery

I know my Infiniti dealer keeps their keys in their loaner cars all the time

Thanks dwolloz for your reply. Anyone else had this problem? It occured to me twice and the key was definitely in the "OFF" position, not accessory.

Shouldn't happen bro with the key in the off position.
There are certain live circuits on the G, but shouldn't run the battery down to anything critical for a month or more.
There must be something left on. Have the dealer check for excessive battery drainage when key is off the lights are off etc.
If it's not that, then your battery is just weak and needs replacing. They can check how good it is too.

Just tell me where you park your car and you will never have to worry about the dead battery again

I guess remove the key and see if it drains or not. process of elimination.

just wondering though, why would you want to leave your keys in the ignition
in the first place? is yours a race vehicle?
