Just Bought an 05 6MT from my 5AT

Well guys, just though I would let everyone know I am trading my 04 Black/black 5AT for a 05 black/black 6MT. My main motivation for trading was to get the 6MT. I also got a GREAT deal in my opinion. I searched all the dealers inventory within 150 miles of me, and this was the ONLY black/black 6MT left. It has premium, sport tuned suspension, rear spoiler but no aero. My 5AT had premium, and full aero.

After some strong negotiations i got the dealer down to 500 over invoice on the 6MT with free lo-jack and free tire/wheel protection package. They appraised my car for 27,500 and I got them up to 28,500. I think this is a great deal, would you guys agree? My first mod will have to be a front lip. Maybe the OEM or the stillen. Ill post pics when i pick i up, which is this friday, cant wait!!

-Mike

Sounds about average. They underrated your trade-in by a few thousand, and in turn knocked the price down from the new one a few k so it looked better. Sounds like in total it cost you about 7-8k for the trade up, which is what most people end up paying.

difference came out to be $6500 all inclusive. I am having my subs taken out, and selling them. I dont want to put them in my new car because I want a trunk, and I dont want to spend $900 on dynamat/tacmat again. If anyone wants it, let me know.

Private sale on that car would be about 31k or so, depending on the location.

Don't forget, if you trade-in at the same place you buy you'll get tax savings too which will probably be around $2000-2500 depending on where you live. That's why dealers will always give you less on a trade-in.

They wrote the paperwork up as $30,700 and the new car as $35,000, so total difference 4,300.

I am doing something similiar. I have an 04 Blck/Black AT that I am trading in for an 05 6MT Sport Coupe w/splash Aero Prem and Nav. The deal worked for me b/c I was able to get VPP pricing which my dealer accepted on the 6MT. They are giving me 27500 for my car which is fair since it has a viscious ding/dent over the drivers side right wheel that has to be worked to repair (dent wizard failed twice trying to remove it). With the savings on tax and the fact that I was going to buy some 19" volks and suspension upgrades this summer, the 3500 that I was going to spend on the mods now go into the new car and it's almost an even swap for me.

My new ride is supposed to be delivered on 6/4. There were no D/G configured the way I wanted on the east cost when I ordered four weeks ago (they located one that was on a ship and unclaimed to speed up my delivery).

I changed colors b/c the black was not holding up well after about 1.5 years. Swirling and chipping was horrible. Hopefully the DG will work out better.

Mike,

You are going to love the 6MT. I have 755 miles on mine. It shifts quite quick and smooth. The exhaust note on the 6MT is awesome.

Congrats and ENJOY!!!!
