New Clear Bra
Okay . . . Planning on having a clear bra product installed on my new '05 G35 sometime this week. I think I got a sweet price for the clear bra/install from the dealer where I purchased the G this last Friday.
The clear bra product is called Clear Armor, which is produced by 3M. Have any of you folks used this particular product and if so, what are your comments?
I will confirm this, but as I understand it . . . The Clear Armor product will be used on the following body parts . . . Hood ( about 1/3 coverage), Front Bumper, Front Fenders (don't recall the extent of coverage), Side Mirrors, Headlights (thicker material used), Doors (don't remember the coverage), and I believe some portion near/under the gas cap.

You should get some hits if you search for clear armor. The outfit is in San Carlos, if you don't already know. They do a great job. Got mine done at the dealership (Frontier Infiniti) but had to get the headlights redone for crooked edges at the San Carlos shop. I'm pretty happy overall though. Have fun with the new ride and try not to abuse the loaner you get when you get your bra installed.
I got mine done at Frontier Infiniti as well. Decent job.
I am a big disappointed about the (minor) scratches on the hood piece. Under certain light angles, you can see how/where they wipes it, which really shows on a black car.
Besides that, the edges are clean, verything looks straight.
It's been on for 2 weeks, and some areas look clouded ... I was told it will go away
after a month or so, we'll see I guess.
List price cost is about $1,200 I think.
ChemEngr .. did you call them directly to get the headlights redone, or you went through the dealer ?

Got my clear from CS Specialties here in San Jose, cleartecdesigns@yahoo.com Guys name is Mario. He did an excellent job on my G. Price runs around $895.00. Very pleased with his work! He used lumior instead of the 3M stuff pratically invisible!

I was quoted less than $800.00 from the dealer. Sounds like a good price, eh? I'm glad I am doing it. I will bring it in for the clear bra when the dealer calls me for the install of the rear spoiler.
Thanks again for all of your comments.

Andy,...I've seen some Clear Armor installs, and their quality is not up to par with some of the other installers in the bay area. Try contacting Sam @ Premier Mobile. I've seen many of their work at G meets, and they do some of the best clear bra installs around. His user name here is "Wil". Check out his feedbacks. He also has a kick *** looking Coupe too. Hope you find what you need.
