Any car with HIDs is a definite target in the NYC area. This is the first time I've heard of the G being hit for HIDs though.

I park my car at a lot in the Journal Square area of Jersey City. Sorry, cannot write, I have to run and check for my headlights....but seriously I am going to have to start parking right up against a wall...humm..maybe that would not even stop those basta*ds.

Let me get this straight... So at 5:10 am the attendant left his post, and when he returned at 5:30 am "He noticed" your headlights were missing? Hm... So these headlight theives are driving around all night til 5:00 am til they find a car that would be easy, even though it's a secure parking lot? Also taking a chance the attendant might have just left to take a squirt? Doesn't sound right to me...

Proximity sensors & motion sensors protect you from this problem. If you reach your hand inside my car the alarm will sound (motion sensor inside the car). If you stand next to my car for 5 seconds my alarm will also sound (Proximity sensors) within a second my pager goes off & you are about to meet the sickest ***** you ever encountered …. If you bump my car parking, Hello! Here I am again! (Shock sensor), If you tilt my car to tow or steal my rims Hi pal... My self leveling sensor went off …. What are you doing?
Sorry to hear about what happen to you … But know that the stock alarm is a joke ….

Want a better alarm? ….. Spend the money! … & remember you get what you pay for.
Not trying to come off bad in any way... But get better equipped … Make sure you have a 2 way pager with the alarm … Nobody gives a car alarm a second look these days.

There are times I'd like to drive my 02 Maxima to work in Weehawken but when I read these types of threads, I get pretty content with patronizing NJ Transit.

The entire light assemby is worth a fortune. It is definitely worth the effort for the crooks to pop the hood and take out the entire assembly. I just had a "minor" fender bender which cost $1,400 to repair. Of this, $837 was parts only for the driver's light assembly. Talk about a legal rip off! Mine was a 3 week old 2005.

I was just going to say smething like this. It doesn't sound right from the get go. The attendant has something to do with this. I remember a similar situation here in at Disneyland when a bunch of my friends went and parked outside the park. The attendant ripped the fog lights out of the cars and some other stuff. When they confronted him of course he denied everything. Needless to say when the guy got off his shift he got a good @%#$&^&^ and &^%Q@$&^%@!!!! That will teach him.

since our passenger side door handle doesn't have a keyhole, would you think we can put the japanese handle (figuring it doesn't have a key hole) on our driver side door so we don't have keys to unlock the car with? and somehow disabling the auto window feature? you can still use the auto feature with the remote..?

Sorry to hear that man....I remember when i lived back in ny, alot of the 01' Maximas were getting headlights stolen for the HIDS. Only way you can try to prevent this from happening is to get an aftermarket alarm and have a hood pin installed so the minute the hood is popped it trigger the alarm.

Yeah, but even the best alarm will not prevent sh*t faces from doing stuff like this. I bet the headlights were out and the theives gone in like 3 mins. Which means, if you knew your alarm was going off in 20 seconds, ran your *** off, if you were 5 mins away, you wouldn't see anything but the left overs. Happened to me already once. Theives don't care, they will continue stealing whatever they came for with your alarm going off even in the broad daylight. But I do agree, better alarm = nice and you do get what you pay for. But my advise is be sure to add a hood lock to your alarm, and good insurance. Hood lock and battery backup are two of the cheapest alarm add-on's and well worth it! Definitely sucks though, and sorry to hear about your loss.

hell of a coincidence with the attendant.. I wouldnt buy that crap either. Its either not watched at all, or the guy is in on it.
