No, once it was in place it was fine, I just didnt want to take it on and off which is what I suspect happened. And even if that were the case how "firm" could a shift be taking the car from the parking lot to the lift

Nevertheless, Im going to let it go but they lost me as a customer, I have a nissan dealer in my town that Im gonna try next oil change.

I see. And while I've been known to slam shifters like the slap-shifters of the late 60's, I have yet to break one or strip a ****. Someone was probably jacking with it too much, for whatever reason.

Let us know how you're received at Nissan. I've got a local deaalership here and the nearest Infiniti dealership is 4 hours away. I'm planning on taking the G to the local Nissan dealership for installation of some Nismo parts (to keep the parts warranty intact).

out here in Cali, nissan dealerships are factory authorized to do everything an infiniti dealership is when it comes to service. they cannot do warranty work though.

I second the notion that dealerships suck. I have never had one dealership be excellent in the service department. So far the best dealership transaction for me has been a lease agreement just recently at a jaguar dealership.
About 1 month ago i used infiniti roadside assisstance which i thought was great service by the way because i hit a curb with my rear wheel and it bent my control arm. Well the dealership says you need a new wheel and it costs 840 bucks. They said my tire is fine just need a wheel. I said ok, fix the bent arm, put on my spare, throw my bent wheel in the trunk and i will find a cheaper wheel on ebay. They said "ok" so i went and picked up the car... I looked at it when i got there and they put the so called "bent" rim on the car but moved it to the front. I said how can it be bent and you put it on? they said oh we realized it was ok after all, they did an alignment and everything. What a load of crap! they wanted to get me for 840 more because i had a badly scratched rim, and to top it off they didnt even wash/vaccuum my car. I was very disappointed. Dealerships suck, particularly infiniti ones. This was Harte Infiniti in CT by the way.

It sux being a young driver sometimes. I bet if you were old and they viewed you as a possible next year buyer, they would treat you better. They already did their job (according to them) when they sold you the car... enough being kind I guess... After you give in your review sheet, you are done for I guess.

Dude, you are in a situation right now where you have lost out on $130. You could call right now and complain to a manager you might get the money. ANd if you don't at least you tried. If your never try then you'll never know what the out come is. Go for it. I would. I never take bull**** from places where I am a customer. I had some small scratches on my car and argued it up to the owner of the dealer, they buffed them out as good as they could and then gave a $400 TEFLON coating for free. Trust me it pays to complain.

Sorry dude.

Did anyone mention Helicoils? A good auto parts store will carry these, but I don't know about the size you might need.
