I am trying to decide whether to buy used TPM sensors for a set of winter wheels. I assume I have to reprogram the TPM computer each time I change out the wheels from the winter to the summer set. The dealer charges $95 to do this, which comes to $190 per year. Is there a way for me to do this myself?

Also, can I transport the extra sensors inside the car and not set off any faults in the TPM computer. My Touareg had TPM and would go into a fault mode if I didn't turn off the TPM system prior to having extra sensors in the vehicle.
