Spun out in the G

If I applied too much throttle, the car would just understeer, so I would just turn the steering wheel more and it masked a lot of poor driving habits.
Here's a linky for Skip Barber...the Viper is an absolute gas!

One other thing I learned very quickly was that when the car is understeering, slamming on the throttle wouldn't make the rear end rotate (I used to think that with any rwd car, all you need to do is apply throttle and the rear end would come around). It actually made sense after - when the car is understeering, the front wheels have lost traction, applying throttle sends weight back towards the rear of the car which means even less traction up front. D'oh!

i think it's all in the driver and how much you decide to push with your right foot.
i'm sure you can get a viper or a 360 modena to spin out even worse if you get on the power hard enough exiting a turn.

You are not talking to Mom here. Let's live in the real world - the world where other people have driven Mustangs too.
Let's face it - a car is a tool. The finer the tool the more experience required to wring out it's full potential. Go try a 911 at 9/10th's and we'll see if you're still around to give a report.
Old saying: It's a poor craftsmen who blames his tools.
You must also take in consideration that the Prelude carries more weight on the front, so if anything, the Prelude would understeer. To make a fwd car spin, you have to do a fast left-right movement to uncontroll the back. The G has a much more even weight distribution and that is the reason it spins...
Then the other reason is POWER! cant compare the difference in power. Try doing 5.7s to 60 on ur prelude.
Finally, grip... the G's tires are wider and bigger, more grip. Now, when we deal with spinning tires, the ones that are spinning lose grip. With the G, the front ones will stick to the ground (eliminating Understeer), but the back ones spinning will give you Oversteer.
Its not that our car handles like crap, but RWD and more power and better weight distribution makes the car that way... by "that way" I mean FUN.
BTW - I own an OLD OLD Prelude, it takes hard work to make the back part swing without the hand brake. I found myself understeering a lot though. FWD cars were made for that, control, but RWD is much more fun and compliments you more when you get it done right.
If you still dont like the G, get a sedan x with 4wdrive.

i NEVER drive w/ VDC on takes all the fun out of it, nobody is makin a big deal that you spun out. everyone is making a big deal about you sayin the g doesnt handle all that well. this is also my first rwd car, took me bout one month to get use to it. once you learn how to handle a rwd car, you'll love it. there nothing more fun than a controlled drift. just practice in empty lots and in a month or two you'll forget bout VDC, just be carefull
